Maybe you already know, we are in the year of the tiger from 4 months since MIKACE, now CHET, we should celebrate 4 months ago but we do it now because we were busy working the field.

How can American or Canadian expect or respect our new year when everyone chooses to celebrate whatever day that is convenience for everyone?

Think of driving a car and we're giving a left or a right turn's signal. So that people behind us can expect our action. They can also help us making turn safely. In this case which we choose to celebrate whatever day, but its correct day, meaning we don't really care for other people, but ourself. Therefore no respect and great expectation from other people either.

An Irish has their St. Patrick's day on March 17th. So other people think that green color meaning the world to the Irish. Some even help wearing green. Even though they are not an Irish.

American celebrate on Dec 25th for their Chirstmas's day. What did most of us do? We go shopping and giving away gifts and cards. Even though we are not Christian. The the great expectation of from a friends, family, co-workers and ultimate our own culture that really matter. To those who are or will coordinate the ceremony, please think about it seriously and stop celebrate our Cambodian New Year on a wrong day or on a weekend just because it's convenience for kids, work, school or whatever. It's a one time event in a whole year. Do it right the next time around.

to 1:21am,

Our Cambodian New Year or God of the new Year arrives on April 13th. This is the day that our ancestors and people choose to put out flowers and all kinds of offering to receive him or her. They also begins to go to the temple to bring the offering to the monks. It can be money, food and material. To do this, Cambodian believe, will reach those offering to their ancestors. They also spend time at the temple listening to Monks' chanting. For three days we are doing that and go when you can. Another word, you got 3 days to do it. Choose your day. They are the most sacred and peaceful day in the world for Cambodian. We simply rest and enjoy ourself to peace, happiness, food and entertainment of all kinds until it ends on April 16th. Our fellow Cambodian in Cambodia are celebrating during those days. Why can all of us around the world do the same? Everbody at a different place chose to celebrate when and what ever day, they can and think it's convenience for them. Majority of us ended up leaving these most important days to birds to celebrate for us instead. There is no unity and no respecting of a true culture. If we cann't even respect our own correct days and culture of the New Year, who will?

Guess what? The Khmer Rouge's New Year is April 17th and the entire population in Cambodia on April 17th of 1975 went to hell. Doesn't the day itself tells us that the new year is over?
