The government invited high-ranking officials to a conference aiming at defending the country’s territorial integrity.
Senators, MPs, government officials, a few hundred people gathered on 24 March at Council of Ministers to attend an exclusive presentation. The goal of this event was to distribute information on the nature of the conflict with Thailand and on the consequences that Cambodia must draw from.
Chea Dara, the deputy army commander-in-chief, gave out an improvised conference: “Patience, good knowledge of the situation and the courage of our soldiers constitute crucial elements to contain the Thai encroachment.”
Chea Dara did not miss the opportunity to put forward the weak points of the Thai army. According to the Cambodian general, Thai soldiers lack strategy and some do not even know the name of their chief.
The conference was also an opportunity for Chea Dara to boast Hun Xen’s values: “He is really the king of the soldiers, and he distinguishes himself by his talent and experience.” Chea Dara also stressed: “Samdach Hun Xen managed the conflict very well. He always asked us to be patient and to find peaceful solutions.”
The “information” campaign should be expanded to government workers and students in the upcoming days.

Most, if not all, khmer army generals and government officials are appeasers. They are feeding the tiger (hun sen) and hoping the tiger will eats him last. I can't blame them though, they are afraid and want to keep their jobs, they don't really serve the country or the people. Hun Sen is smart to appoint the dumb generals, to be under his countrol.
So he has the full 'General Chea Dara' name on his uniform, but low ranking soldiers have only their last names? Wow he so cool.
Wow! Chea Dara...keep on praise Hun Sen...just a few more times...you will get your five stars? But, first of all, how many people are already have five stars beside Hun Sen? Because there could be a complication for you to get another star...On that note...Is Dr. Bun Chay going to get another star as well?...This is very puzzle!
There are so many stars in Cambodia...why Cambodia still in the dark with human rights and corruption?....General with stars (come will your title and duty)...make sure your stars shine on human rights and bring those corruption officials into the light...peace and nonviolence be with all Khmer...

It looks like the defense of Cambodia is only on the western front and nothing at all on the eastern one, which is much more serious than the western front.
Hay 7:30 AM, Who want to criticize to discredite four stars Chea Dara for helping Cambodia...but one have to weigh out the cost and benefit of his deed. One has to also weighout the cost and the benefit of the short run vs long run for Cambodian nation as a whole! Is the short run benefit out weight the cost for the long run benefit for Cambodia? Will cambodian population (especially the 80% that live in provinces)benefit the current govt. development policy?
Ok 7:30AM - everybody can help Cambodia with their own capacity without selling their core value or that matter their motherland for gambling, women, and materialistic without lasting value!!...such as majority of people in the current govt. now. Can one tell the people with migger salary of these stars generals can afford over 100,000 US dollars sport car for their sons, daughters...leaving a lone for themselves, their wife, their mistress, etc...

If the Cambodian soldiers are so strong and capable..and Hun Sen is hero...how come the Thail soldiers are still occupying Khmer land?
Hun Sen should have been punsihed severely for his neglegence of defence of the motherland...Soldiers were poorly equiped ... disorganized..low disciplined... villegers along the borders were pushed around and their house burned by Thai soldiers... That why the Thai did not take the Cambodian troops seriously and decided to invaded Cambodia!
Inside the Cambodia, the Khmer soldiers gran lands, push people from their villages,... in the name of development..for economic land concessions...As a cambodian citizen, I am not proud od the current leadership at all.

Kind of agree with your point of view! A lot of you are always expressed your anger, hatred ignorant and selfish when it comes to the topic of Hun Sen and his clans. Attacks after attacks and some of you even wanted to assassinate Hun Sen and or encouraged the poor to protest.
It's time to stop all the non sense! If you people really dislike Hun Sen and his generals, why don't you go to Cambodia and confront them? I dare you! stop complaining and whining! Do something, would you?

Genearal Chea Dara is a graduate of a French military school, Saint Cyr, an equivalent of West Point and was Director of Military Tactics.
Without good knowledge, Cambodian army will not be able to defend Cambodia. Thai military has modern equipment, but we have good guerrilla tactics, that is why they could not invade Cambodia.
We need experts in international law to defend our country, as well.

Ah, there have been many regimes change during my life time. So how can you expect the HR regime will last forever given the condition of how he is treating his own people that he suppose to be governce?
