A group of war correspondents plans to hold a reunion next month in Phnom Penh in memory of colleagues who died in Cambodia during the Indo-China War in the early 1970s.
One of the organizers of the event is Chhang Song, an information minister during the US-backed Lon Nol government. [KI-Media note: Chhang Song is currently an advisor of Hun Xen, even though he lives in Long Beach, California]
He says the event will include correspondents who covered Cambodia from 1970, when the Lon Nol government was inaugurated, to 1975, when the regime collapsed and gave way to the Khmer Rouge.
Another organizer, Carl Robinson, a former Associated Press correspondent says while there had been reunions in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, among war correspondents who covered the Vietnam War, this will be the first in Cambodia.
Mr Robinson, who was based in Saigon from 1968 through 1975, says between April 1970 and April 1975, 33 foreign journalists and 21 Cambodian journalists were killed or went missing while covering stories.

Good grift Lok.Chhang Song. Please tell what do you see in Cambodian government and what make you serve Hun Sen? Governor Sek Sam Iet of Battambang is another one that post such great headache. I don't understand it. Is it money? and economic problem which drive you toward this evil force of joining with vietnam's clan? Yes ? no ? or you simply bore out of your mind that you have to do something? and it deosn't matter for whom? Also is it because of fame that you use to have and cann't find it here in Long Beach California? Speechless.
Oh may be you were blind fold like many others which thinking the Cambodian government is a friendly state to the US. That is correct. Many of us are the same way, but you could at least help electing new Cambodian PM. Don't you think it's time? or who cares like Sihanouk or his son Sihamoni? or like many of our sacred Monks? Confused like hell, especially when you are involved.
My congratulation to Mr. Chhang Song. This is a very good contribution, you give back to your birth place in helping to rebuild our beloved country Cambodia.
An advisor is still not a collaborator.
ah 11:26am,this is about compatriotism if you don`t know any politic in cambodia, shut the fuck off!!ok or don`t fuck up with them let them do the job.in the future you`ll see who is{nek snear ha chheth}.
Take it easy 12:31pm man. Just wondering.
All advisors in Cambodia to PM Hun Sen seem as useless as horse' ass.. They can advise Mr. PM and his staff to evict poor people out of their homes alright or cutting the trees down or serving the interest of communist countries ( China & Vietnam )and let millions of vietnamese living freely in Cambodia and care nothing about our Khmer Krom. Yep, there is nothing wrong with it. Keep going. Advisor my ass.
Yes, they 're all can walk on water.
The project is absolutely great and has nothing to do with the politic in Cambodia. It seems that 11:26 am just could not stand the fact that Mr. Chhang Song was the primier's advisor after all the nasty things had happened during their reign of terror. Many people would understand that and no doubt about it.
I do not trust Chhang Song, He is
a viet spy, វាជាជនក្បត់សាធារណះរដ្ឋខ្មែរ ។
