THE Cambodian embassy in Bangkok has found a lawyer to represent a man accused of committing an arson attack on a bank during violent protests in the Thai capital last week, officials said.
San Mony Phet, 27, a native of Battambang province, was arrested by Thai authorities on Wednesday outside the Bangkok beverage shop where he is employed, on suspicion of involvement in an arson attack committed by antigovernment Red Shirt protesters.
Koy Kuong, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Monday that a Thai attorney has been found to defend him when he appears in court.
“We will try our best to help him,” he said Monday, and added that Cambodian embassy officials and the man’s wife went to meet him in custody on Sunday.
Cambodian officials have so far denied San Mony Phet’s involvement in the protests. Koy Kuong said the suspect has worked legally in Thailand for five years and is married to a Thai woman, who has cooperated with embassy officials and Thai authorities in order to expedite the release of her husband.
At least 86 people were killed and around 1,900 injured in clashes between government forces and Red Shirts before the protesters were dispersed by force last week.

San Mony Phe is one of many Hun Sen's undercover agents sent by him to help the Red Shirts destabilize the Thai government. It's a fact! Hun Sen has thousands in the US and Canada (right now) trying to divide and brain wash overseas Khmer to like the CPP Party. Prochechun Khmer beware!

If San Mony Phe was not involved with Red shirt, he needs no worry about his capture. Thailand has a better justice system than kangaroo khmer court.
be wary when politics involved in any discussion; it is bias, to say the least! and of course, siem is using this khmer man or whoever he is in the khmer of name to distract or deviate siem's real national problem, really! one has to be well-educated or worldly educated to understand look into siem pad thugs' heads to understand their intention, really!

I don't see how Thai leaders can bullshit the world by holding this Cambodian man hostage and accusing him of something he didn't do for their political gain! Nobody is stopping Thailand from launching a full war with Cambodia! If Thai leaders want war and they will have war and go ahead start war and Cambodia can go back to the same good old day doing the killing and the destruction and this is what Cambodian do best! ahahhahhah
