Kim Jong Il's visit draws anger from Chinese, meanwhile in Cambodia...

Kim’s Visit Sparks Anger

2010-05-05

Radio Free Asia

North Korea’s leader gets a cold virtual shoulder in China.

HONG KONG—Chinese netizens have reacted angrily to a visit to China by North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, with large numbers taking part in a campaign on Twitter titled “Kim Jong Il, get out of China!”

Kim arrived in Beijing on Wednesday and was expected to meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao later in the day.

Netizens lashed out at Kim for occupying the presidential suite at the Furama Hotel in the northeastern port city of Dalian, which costs 16,000 yuan (U.S. $2,300) per night, more than the annual per capita economic output of North Korea.

Chinese commenters on the microblogging service Twitter also criticized the wastefulness of the huge limousine motorcade that followed Kim, saying the money spent on the motorcade was taken from the "flesh and blood" of the North Korean people.

Xiamen-based blogger Peter Guo wrote in English under the hashtag #KimGetOut, “Kim Jong Il, get out! get out! get out!”—a tweet passed around Chinese cyberspace for the rest of the day.

In an interview, Guo said he favors Twitter-based campaigns for when netizens want to make a political point. “Personally I really support this sort of action,” Guo said.

“It’s possible to organize lightning campaigns online, actions that express one’s own point of view. So I was very happy to take part, because I really do loathe Kim Jong Il,” he said.

“Campaigns like this let people know that Chinese netizens really are disgusted with Kim Jong Il ... [North Korean] propaganda is shameless, because it turns black into white.”

Media directive

Kim’s first visit to China in four years comes amid renewed tensions on the Korean Peninsula in the wake of the sinking of a South Korean warship in late March.

Pyongyang has denied any involvement, but the South Korean government suspects the ship was torpedoed by the North.

Sources in the official Chinese media said Beijing’s powerful central propaganda department had issued a directive regarding Kim’s trip.

“Any reports or news items about Kim Jong Il’s visit to China should use only centrally approved media reports and should turn off the comments section [if posted online],” the directive said.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu was noncommittal about the visit at a regular news conference Tuesday.

“China and North Korea are friendly neighbors, and we will do our best to continue to develop good neighborly and friendly relations with North Korea,” she said.

Potential flashpoint

On Twitter, user “Secretary Zhang” said netizens are using the only channel available to them to express their feelings about the reclusive North Korean leader.

“We would like to have the same rights that they have in free countries, to be able to oppose things, to be able to shout slogans and to take to the streets. We don’t have that right. All we can do is vent online,” the user wrote.

Hong Kong-based media commentator and veteran Korea watcher Lee Kwok-sing said Kim’s possible return to six-nation talks aimed at denuclearization of the Korean peninsula was probably one reason behind the secret visit.

“The conditions [for his return] haven't yet been agreed to by China's top leadership. That’s why he is visiting China again at this time, in order to hold meetings with Chinese leaders,” Lee said.

“Another thing is that he wants the Chinese Communist Party to recognize his designated successor, his son. He probably took him with him on this trip, so they could get a closer look at him.

China’s top nuclear negotiator Wu Dawei has said that China—host of the talks that also involve North and South Korea, Japan, Russia, and the United States—wants to resume the dialogue by the end of June.

China potentially wields great influence on North Korea as the country's largest provider of food and fuel aid.

But if investigations confirm Pyongyang’s involvement in the sinking of the 1,200-ton Cheonan, in which 40 crew members died, this could prove a further obstacle for negotiations.

The communist system is a big lie.
They want people to believe that everyone is equal in class and status, no rich, no poor. But in reality, the leaders live a lavish lifestyle while the average people live like animals.

That's why communism doesn't like smart or educated people. They like dumb people who they can brainwash easily.

His act was cruel that the whole world should have not accepted his ruling of the country. We humane netcitizens should keep up online campaign to turn down his evil regime which starves its own citizens but enhances its own elite groups. KhOpen,

i hate communism. good for nothing, only hypocrite to keep people ignorant so they can brainwash them. in the west, people value education, so in cambodia, i hope khmer people will get educated as much as they can to learn to think for themselves, to to use logical skill or critical thinking skills more in life than just remain ignorant. fight for your rights. we all have rights, you know! don't tolerate a handful of evil people to rule over you all. tell them to step down if they could respect the law, people's rights, etc.

I HATE THIS BASTARD . SIHANOUK
HE MUST DIE SOONER

People do value education here. That's why they're willing to put their kids in schools that cost up to $15,000(U.S) a year PER CHILD. I don't think any of you guys out there in the West are willing to spend that much on your child's education. I'm talking about the elementary and secondary education. Not college.

Our dear leader, Playboy Sihanouk, greets our dear leader, Playgirl, Kim Jong Ill. Is Sihanouk Red Khmer or Khmer Communist? Isn't he? Of course he is 100% communist. Otherwise he won't associate with China, Vietnam, Cuba, and North Korea.

This stupid old man is useless and help Hun Sen to destroy Khmer people and her country. He didn't finish Khmer in 1970.

We're all should destroy him as well.

How long will the people around the world recognize that Communist leaders are just another bad leader who really don't mean anything to them at all? They are just most fascist- ugly dictators that everyone should avoid at all cost. They're nothing , but a power hungry who will do anything to retain their power. Even if it means to stave you, to deprive you from little freedom or anything you have and to shut your mouth forever. They also would not hesitate to throw you in jail with no defender or to kill you to keep what they have. Can anyone do anything about it " or to get rid of them right now? Dream on and try Kim Jun Il or China President. Not even God.

Sihanouk loves his country, his people.
He didn't kill too many opponent, he like power, he always is a dictator, he wants to be header of the state for his entire life, he's wrong.
Why everybody hate him and he lost.
He prefer to kiss Hun Sen his ex-opponent and stay away from politic.
When you're dictator, we hate you..
No one is perfect!

you know, think of it this way, sihanouk is an individual, he may be khmer, but he lost all creditial to represent all khmer people as a nation. so, don't assume when he was popular in the 1960s that he is popular with younger generation in cambodia. cambodia changed now and there are more to cambodia than just one or two individuals, you know. of course, khmer people will always give respect to their elder, but that doesn't they agree with them all the time. just because at one time in history people belief and worship sihanouk, doesn't mean it is true again or forever, of course, the older generation who knew him and lived under his rule can remember the good old time they had, however, it doesn't necessarily mean people they are forced to believe that again. a lot has changed since. so, let's don't use assumption too much.

These posters from 9;24am through 10;52pm are dumb people. Their comments have no substances no intelligence. Just some of the journalist writes their propagandas, these dumb people make their stupid judgements as they usually do.

FYI China supports North Korea secretely supprts Kim behind. Look at the world geopolitics why China uses the erratic Kim to scare the west? Go figure!!!

This world is full of shit and why sould anyone trust China or US? But to survive one has to gamble, kissing both sides or kissing China if US ignoring us, or kissing US if China ignoring us.

And what is wrong to play friendship with the erractic like Kim Jung Il? He can make the real superpowerful shit around if he just pull a trick. What is wrong to use the enemy of our enemy is our friend? The politicians do all the time to survive.

Without China or N Korea, Cambodia may be shitted by the Yuon long times ago. The French and the US never care about Cambodia, but they do a little bit now because King Sihanouk has erratic powerful friends.

For so long I only see these stupid people barking, but they never share how would they govern if they are leaders in the middle of crisis?

Everyone like sto brag " Yes we can.." Look so simple isn't? The minute they hold the office, they can't do a shit, and with their empty promise, everyone is shitting losing jobs.

Maybe making another secret deal on how to eliminate khmer from being existed?. Or because Kim has a nuclear bombs to offer for cheap price or for noting at all if only king listens to him just as he listened to Chairman Moa?

KI-Media is not reporting news, they create news by changing the titles and pictures of news they report. The titles makes you think that Kim Jong Il was meeting Sihanouk while it is not true! This picture dates from 2007!

Ah.me Yuon kantorb 12:50 PM,
Your comment is a same propaganda that have been used to attack and divide Khmer people for century.
Don't try to guess people's minds like asking Khmer King's mind. IT is not your azz's business.

Look at your Yuon tactics, fought with the US but now kissing the US; fought with China now trying to kiss China's azz. Why cannot Khmers' King do the same tactic?

About KI, we readers have been asking each others all along that some of the members in KI are Yuon spies like other organizations there are Yuon spies among them.

Why sometime KI play Yuon games and sometime pretend to curse Yuon?
Go figure!!!!

10:18pm,
We sometime can't figure about this KI. KI stands for Khmer Intelligence, but in what way when many times KI plays Hanoi's games?
We have observed this KI for the past few years, many posts posted by KI seemed to be so pro Hanoi, though KI claims it is against Hanoi and CPP.

Either some of the KI's members are Yuon spies or their members lack of knowledge in reference to the geopolitic issues that is why many of the articles posted by KI play Hanoi's games.

Anonymous said...

yes, in college, they teach students not to take the internet seriously because there is a good reason for that. anybody can post unfound or untruth information on the internet. so, never worship the internet and what people are saying on the internet, really! even with academic research, school required only one internet sources when quoting information only. in the academic world, the internet is kept at a minimum as for citation, you know! it is too subjective to be considered serious.

Anonymous said...

yes, inernet is good for learning other languages only and for communication only, not good for real academic citation, really!

This old article posted by KI attacking Khmer King shows that KI is playing Vietnamese's games.

The geopolitics: the US want to rule and reign SEA and to do so the US need nations like an aggressive Vietnam who against China and N.Korea to carry its duty.

The US made a secretely deal with France to sign Khmer Krom to S. Vietnamese, so the US could control S. Vietnam against China and Soviet Unions. The US had 2 military based in Utapo, Thailand and S. Vietnam.

Lon Nol's army was defeated by the Vietnamese spies inside of his army; left King Sihanouk & his men inside Vietnamese's army among KR supported by China. Hanoi knew the games so Sihanouk escaped from assassination, first from CIA and second from Hanoi.

Now the US became friends with Vietnam, King Sihanouk became friend with China and Kim, the erratic who threats the US.

When one is small like Cambodia and being looking down by the superpower, one can make friend with the erratic like Kim and China, and why not?

King Sihanouk, in spite of these Yuon spies and some idiot Khmers try to attack him, he is still great friend to the erratic nuclear man Kim and China.

About framing King Sihanouk as the killer of his people is all lies by Yuon Hanoi. Without his people, he cannot be KIng, so stop smearing good Khmer King.

Another smear by KI, is that KI has never posted King Sihamoni building houses for poor Khmer people like Nikum Preah Norodom Sihamoni. Why is KI afraid of?

If it is afraid of seeing CPP TV, but how about poor Khmer people who everyday received homes from the King to live. The King serves his subjects every where he visits, and he keeps building homes for his people day by day.
former Khmer Krom monk was released by Hanoi because the King helped behind when he visited Hanoi.

Where are good news about Khmer King from KI? NONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Is KI secretely pro Yuon Hanoi? See for yourself.
