PHNOM PENH, Cambodia — A French tourist has been sentenced to seven months in prison for sex with a 15-year-old Cambodian prostitute.
The Phnom Penh Municipal Court Wednesday convicted Olivier Madrieres, 48, for soliciting sex from a child prostitute and reduced an initial two-year prison term to seven months. He was also ordered to pay 3 million riel ($715) as compensation to the victim's family.
Cambodia has long been a magnet for foreign pedophiles because of poverty and corruption in law enforcement. But the country's police and courts have stepped up action against sex offenders in recent years.

If she is underage , how can she be a prostitute ? If she is a prostitute anyone can have sex with her .I think the law is on the wrong side . He had sex with a prostitute , how can he be prosecuted for having sex with a prostitute ? Whi is breaking the law here ... he or she ?

I understand your point. The thing is regardless she is a prostitute or not, she is still underaged and by internatinal law, it is illegal to have sex with a minor and this white guy should know that.
