Chea Mony, president of the Free Trade Union of Workers of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has appealed to all workers to help raise the money to pay a 16.5 million riels ($4,500) fine on behalf of MP Mu Sochua who was ordered by the Supreme Court to pay the fine after finding her guilty of defaming Prime Minister Hun Sen, reports Cambodian Express News.
Mu Sochua sued Mr. Hun Sen for defamation after he called her a "cheung klang" - strong leg, which sometimes means a "hustler", but her suit was dismissed and she was found guilty of defamation when Mr. Hun sen countersued. She steadfastly said she rather go to jail than pay the fine, by maintaining her innocence.
Earlier in the week, there are reports that her party, the Sam Rainsy Party, will pay the fine on her behalf but she strongly objected. It is not sure if she will agree to Mr. Chea Mony paying the fine on her behalf.
Mr. Chea Mony said he had circulated the appeal to all workers to help raise the mony to pay Mu Sochua's fine. He said dispute between Prime Minister Hun Sen and Mu Sochua is a small issue, but if both sides want to be the winner it could degenerate into a big dispute.
Mr. Tith Sothea, spokesman for the Quick and Press Reaction Unit, said by laws, either the person who was fined or their lawyer must pay the fine. He added that the law does not allow anyone to pay the fine on their behalf. However, he did not say whether the court will allow Chea Mony to pay the fine on Mu Sochua's behalf.

Why collect money from the poor Garment Worker's, just to pay for the would've fine and wealthy Mu Sochua lady if she would've worked in the US?? They're already struggling to save money themselves, pay for their living expenses, and support their families in the country side!! This is a stupid way of taking from the poor to support the rich!! FUCK these people and that stupid whore Mu Sochua!!
Is it disgraced Mu Sochua belong to SRP or SRP is belong to Mu Sochua? Actually, in Parliamentarian systerm likes in Cambodia, all MPs and party members have to respect the party's decision and follow the party's line. What is the benefit by not paying the fine? Is it for better or for worst by going to jail and destroy her political career in this way?
SRP firmly supports disgraced Mu Sochua-no fine to be paid is so nice to please its extremely supporters against PM Hun Sen, but at the same it's also a nice trick to remove Mu Sochua from SRP in the next election. However, we will see Mu Sochua's real colour whether she will pay the fine or not when she arrived back to Cambodia.
In my point of view, I am still believe that disgraced Mu Sochua will pay the fine by using SRP's decision as her pretext to save her ugly face.
Khmer in Sydney CBD
Hun Sen will soon die of swine flu(H5N1). His case against Mrs. Mu will be dropped and new chapter of turmoil begins for Cambodia.
12:42pm and 12:56pm.
Brush up your languages. You hate languages toward Her Excellency Mu Sochua make you more barbaric than Hun Sen you support.
And 1:53pm.
Why wishing your enemy to die when you know you and everyone will die?
It is a very bad taste to wish bad thing happens to someone you hate.
Hun Sen is Khmer, so you should wish for him to become a good person and start to stand up defend Khmer border and send all illiegal Yuon back- and wish for H.E Mu Sochua to be protected by Lord Buddha from harms.
For a labor union, It is better to club together to fund a study by independent experts on the economic health of the textile industry and garment industries in Cambodia to better justify the union's demand of wages rises for textile workers that to club together to pay fines of a parliamentarian.
It is the political action which is not the role of a labor union.
before: Hun Xen RULED Cambodia!
today: Hun Xen OWNED Cambodia!
past: Hun Xen sold chickens!
present: Hun Xen sold lands!
Shinahouk uncle is Mao!
Hun Xen uncle is Ho!
Shinahouk gone is Yuon!
Hun Xen gone is Chen!
This is so darn stupid. Why should the poor workers pay the fine for Mu Sochua. She is much richer than those poor workers. If she doesn't pay, let her go to jail. Why the fucking shit head Chea Mony want to collect money from workers to pay for this shit. All these people started from Mu Sochua, if she doesn't make a big deal out of the word strong leg (meaning strongman or strongwoman), whole mess doesn't happen. She want to play this game, and when HS play the game better than her and win, she cry injustice. Well, if you know from the beginning that the court is not just why the fuck bring the law suit to the court in the first place. This whole thing is so stupid, useless, immature!!
I do not know well about the case. But Mrs. Mu Sochua shoud respect SRP decision wich is to pay fine. Labor Union should not collect money from the poor to help Mrs. Mu Sochua.
12:42pm garment worker have a big heart than you even they poor but they have good brain ,
they know good , bad and ugly than you....
wish all garment workers good ,healthy ,and happiness.
If they are, motivated by their patriotic conscience, willing to make some contrbution volunteerily for the sake of helping the good to fight against the evil peacefully, then people like chhke Australia should be bothered, should you? And if you are not ah chhke Australia, dont respond to my comment.
correction: shouldn't be bothered
I personally think Mrs. Mu Sochua should respect the party's decision and get over with this issue. However, Chea Mony would think that there are thousand of workers and raising that amount of money should not be difficult (50 cents of one dollar each). Then let Hun Sen has this hardworking money to enjoy his stupidity about this case.

3:29 AM Exactly!
Hun Xen will lead us to hell any time! I thought he did led 1/2 of us already.
Does Chea Mony have a permission to raise money on behalf of MP Mu Sochua? I don’t think so because $4,500 is not that much money. Chea Mony should know this defamation lawsuit is not about money but justice in Cambodia court system. Unfortunately Chea Mony takes this opportunity for himself. Chea Mony’s judgment is simple minded.
8:04 PM,
Those poor Khmers wanted to help Khmers, and I think you should know poor people are very nationalists too and tehy understood HE Mu Sochua is a great role model and she is well respected Leader by International community.
Mor Socwhore should pay the fine herself or go to jail if she believes she's a strongwoman, not by having poor Garment Worker's pay on her sorry behalf!!
