At 11:55AM, Mrs. Mu Sochua was on her way to lunch at Phsar Kap Ko while waiting for the biased court to come and arrest her

Mrs. Mu Sochua (L) and Strongman Hun Xen (R)

Phnom Penh – At 11:55AM on 16 July 2010, SRP MP Mu Sochua still stands on her stance, saying that she is ready to go to jail if there is any arrest warrant issued for her.

Mrs. Mu Sochua told the DAP-news, while still scolding and accusing the Cambodian judicial system of being unfair, that she wants her case to be decided by a transparent and independent court.

Mrs. Mu Sochua indicated that she is traveling with a large group of women to go to lunch at Phsar Kap Ko.

On Friday morning, DAP attempted to contact officials from the Phnom Penh municipal court, as well as Chiv Keng, the court president, but nobody replied the calls.

In the morning of 15 July, Mrs. Mu Sochua declared that she is maintaining her stance of not paying the compensation to Strongman Hun Xen.

During a press conference held at the SRP party headquarters in Phnom Peng, Mrs. Mu Sochua said that she would rather go to jail than paying 8 million riels in compensation to Hun Xen and paying 8.5 milion riels in fine to the state coffer.

She said that the reason she refuses to pay is because the Cambodian judiciary system is unfair and is biased toward Hun Xen.

Sok Roeun, the deputy prosecutor of the Phnom Penh municipal court, indicated that the ultimatum date for Mrs. Mu Sochua to pay her fine will end on 16 July 2010. He added that the court will take legal measures if Mrs. Mu Sochua still refuses to pay the amount of money as ordered by the court. However, Sok Roeun did not say what these measures would be, he only said that the public will know about these measures.

The dispute between Strongman Hun Xen and Mrs. Mu Sochua took place in 2009 and Mrs. Mu Sochua sued Hun Xen for defaming her. On 02 July 2010, the Supreme Court decided that Mrs. Mu Sochua lost her case to Strongman Hun Xen.

Prior to that, the Phnom Penh municipal court and the Appeal court also decided that she lost her case to Strongman Hun Xen as well, and she was ordered to pay 16.5 million riels in compensation and fine.

Up until this hour, the public is still awaiting to see when the court will take its legal measures against Mrs. Mu Sochua.

DAP will continue to follow up on this case and will publish information as they become available.

It is just a waiting game and it seems the government wants to wait until U.S. deputy Secretary of States finished his official trip in Cambodia first, before they turn the heat with Mu Sochua. So, it could be on Monday next week. As for the time being, Mu Sochua has to look at over her shoulder until she's handcaped by the Police.

Young man 1:35pm, take it easy.
Without chineses, viet already swallowed the whole cambodia.

Sochua's case does not relate to china at all. Sochua is kind of person making her own trouble. Before sueing Hun Sen, she should analize the case first. Her case against Hun Sen is not strong enough.

If you grap the tale of the snake, she will stike back easely.

I am living abroad. I am not CPP. But I just want to be fair. I know that the court system is brooken. But regarding this case , Sochua case is not strong enough to win over Hun Sen. I was a former officer in charge of civil law in 1970 to 1973.

Good on you Madame Mu Sochua !!
You have my full support. As soon as I heard that you are in Prey Sar, I will put my complain directly to the Head of UNDP for their wasting moneys in Cambodia. The development of Cambodia shouldn't only to the roads, bridges, hospitals etc.. but also should go to the development of Cambodian laws and order and juridiciaire and as well to the wellfare of the people of Cambodia.

Areak Prey,

What do you think who you are? Do you think you have power to influence the UNDP and you think UNDP will bother about your complaint? Hahaha

No matter what she has refused to pay the fine, but at the end of the day one way or another, she will pay off the fine. However, she has showed that she is brave more than her boss. Sam Rainsy has ran to overseas long before the Court has issued the warrant for arresting him.

Sam Rainsy should bow his head to Mu Sochua.

Cheers

Hello poster 2:30PM,

This is about advantage to live in a freeworld. A citizen of a free world can make people in that kind of resposibility to response for their leadership in their area.
I do not have any power. But a citizen of freeworld give me that kind of challenge.
Recently, a Kiwi man has challeged a Japanese ship for whales fishing. He has full supported from all his countrymen. I will try all my best too. we cannot afford to have our very best citizen like Madame Mu Sochua to be jailed at all.

Look at the expression on Hun Sen's face, he is terrifying and in shock.
Would he gets the return ticket or a single ticket to Singapore?
This is exactly he would reacts when told by his boss to go ... and don't come back.

KI Team, I think you should refrain from too much revision of original article.

For the first time I see DAP used the title "Strongman" for Hun Sen. Is it possible that DAP is using this adjective or is this part of KI embellishment?

It is becoming quite hard to tell original article from added opinions.

Please make it clear using different formats where there are KI revisions apart from the original article because news article matters.

In Pol Pot era, Khmer rouges killed Yuons and 2 000 000 of Khmers were killed.
If Cambodian leader asks to kill Chineses in Cambodia, 14 000 000 of Khmers would be killed.

To 2:15 p.m. in ref. to 1:35 p.m.

That posting from 1:35 must be an agent of CPP/Vietnamese to try to stir shit or divide among us Khmers, Chinese, and other folks.
We know that without the Chinese and the U.S., the Viets will march all the way to Thai borders long ago.
Now it's more appropriate or relevant to replace statement of 1:35 p.m. with the words Hun Sen instead of China and the words Chine with CPP/Viets and that is more relevant!

The Mu Sochua and Hun Sen's case has really shown the world that the Cambodia's judiciary is indeed biased, unjust, incompetent, and a kindergarten's playground.
