BANGKOK, July 4 (MCOT)- In an attempt to dispel worries among the public that Thailand might lose some areas along the disputed border with neighbouring Cambodia, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said Sunday that the ongoing moving of the provisional demarcation markers would not affect Thailand’s boundary area.
Mr Abhisit confirmed that border demarcation must be made after supervision based on negotiations and the Thai government must submit results of the negotiations for debate in Parliament. So far, Parliament has not approved discussions between the two countries and until now only verifications of the global positioning system (GPS) have been conducted, Mr Abhisit said, noting that none would involve losing Thai territory.
Army chief Gen. Anupong Paochinda will conduct additional investigation, he added. It is impossible that the [Thai] military would give away certain territory to another party, he said, noting that a survey must be made to eliminate the dispute.
Clashes between the military of the two countries occurred sporadically along the poorly-defined boundary including the area near the ancient Preah Vihear temple in July 2008. UNESCO endorsed the nearly one thousand year old Preah Vihear temple as a World Heritage site in August 2008 as proposed by the Khmer government.The International Court of Justice awarded it to Cambodia in 1962. Any international treaties are the evidences of respecting sovereinty of any country.
Do not blame anyone,but the RGC to face the challenge rather oppressing own citizens.
Strong country relies on level of education of citizens and knowlegeable leaders, but cambodia is the opposite where cambodia has been abused by both countries.
Kingdom is also relying on the direction of the king, when the king is weak thus the kingdom will fall apart.
Strongman Hun Sen is only fierce to own citizens with manipulative acts,and being strong for his relatives and his clans.
Facing invasion, there has not been appropriate challenge taken by so called RGC.
Constitution is a binding FORCE and unity, unless each taken appropriate roles and measures accordingly.
If it had not been cambodian kingdom,I would not raised the king roles relevant to our spirit of our constitution.

Vejjajiva's government still uses the same traditional Thai tricks to win the opposition with the story of the Khmer-Thai border conflict. He never thought of compromising with the Cambodian government to settle the dispute. He should learn more about history between the Khmer and Thai conflict and the historical relationship between Khmers and Thais.
The kingdom of Thailand is formed by the former Khmer empire (which is Isaan) and the Siam tribe. When the kingdom of Thailand cracks down, it will go the same way it was formed, which some people have predicted has already begun.
For a general Anupong point of view, to engage war with current Cambodia, it is a dream. However he must realise that it is not just the war between Thailand and Cambodia, but the Thai kingdom and Vietnamese communist instead. From the Vietnamese point of view, they are very welcome of the war and are very confident as they have already won the Laos battle. More than that, they have more military experience than the Thai army, since they fought the French and Americans. The Thai army has never experienced a full scale war with communist before and they should really think twice before planning anything and remember, the most who suffer are the innocent people, including Thais, Khmers and Isaan origins in Thailand and Khmers in Cambodia, not the politicians or you, the General.
Thai prime minister is stupid unlike Hun Sen. Hun Sen doesn't need parliament to approve the border demarcation. Hun Sen is very clever compare to the leader around the world.

of course not, if siem is honest about it! the french colonial have already demarcate the border lines between siem and cambodia, siem should respect it as the present borderline was dating back to that era, otherwise, we have no borderlines at all. so, got to respect it, even though it is an old treaty and the past. stop flip flopping!

The reason Thailand kept taken advantage on khmer and kept look down on Khmer, because Khmers army were weak and poor's defense...that's why Thailand continue to look down on us? We need to upgrade our military and all kind of the modern weapons we could get, in-order to fight off these mosquitos blood sucking Thailand/Vietnam!!!!!!!even though, we have China behind our back, but still? we need to have something with us 24 hours a day too...?
