PM warns Hun Sen to be discreet
Cambodia PM calls on UN chief Ban for help

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has warned his Cambodian counterpart, Hun Sen, to be careful how he interprets information he receives through the media concerning the territorial dispute over the Preah Vihear temple.
Hun Sen was reported on the Cambodian Information Center website yesterday as saying he would ask the UN secretary-general to act as a coordinator on border issues with Thailand.
Mr Abhisit said Hun Sen should be careful about interpreting information on such sensitive issues through the media.
He said Thailand would explain the dispute to the global community.
"We want to solve these problems peacefully, without the use of force," Mr Abhisit said.
However, Mr Abhisit said the government would push out the Cambodian communities who have settled in the 4.6-square-kilometre disputed area surrounding the temple.
Hun Sen on Sunday wrote to the UN General Assembly and the Security Council to say Mr Abhisit had threatened to use military force against Cambodia to settle the border dispute.
Thailand late last month opposed a proposal before Unesco's World Heritage Committee that it consider Cambodia's management plan for the temple.
It argued the Cambodian plan encroached on Thailand's territorial sovereignty by incorporating the surrounding area.
Hun Sen said yesterday he would ask UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon to play the role of coordinator in border issues with Thailand.
Mr Ban would visit Cambodia on Oct27-28, Hun Sen said.
However, he insisted that bilateral border talks with Thailand would not resume until the Thai parliament approved border agreements reached by border committees in past years. Otherwise, the talks would be a waste of time, he said.
Hun Sen said he would also invite a third party, such as the UN or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, to join the border talks.
"It is ridiculous for Thailand to accuse Cambodia of encroaching on the area or using force," he said.
The International Court of Justice in the Hague found in 1962 that the Preah Vihear temple and its surrounding area belonged to Cambodia, so there was no disputed border between Cambodia and Thailand, he said.
"I don't know this area of 4.6 square kilometres [near the temple which Thailand insists is part of Si Sa Ket], so how can I ask my people and army to withdraw?" he said.
Hun Sen reiterated that Cambodia did not want to use force to resolve the border issue, but said "we will defend our territorial integrity".
Meanwhile, the Thai Foreign Ministry has set up a new working group to oversee the issue.
Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya has appointed his secretary, Chavanond Intarakomalyasut, to head the working group.
Mr Chavanond said he would call a meeting of the group on Monday to prepare a response to Cambodia and the UN.
"This group will make decisions about the Foreign Ministry's position on border problems with Cambodia," he said. "It will help prevent public confusion and provide accurate and timely responses on the situation to the international community."
Puea Thai Party chairman Chavalit Yongchaiyudh said yesterday he was confident the two sides would be able to settle their differences peacefully and the problem would not escalate into a war.
Troops from the two countries who are stationed along the border are close and have good ties. "They love each other," Gen Chavalit said.

Abishit must not afraid of third party, if he afraid of third party, it mean that he has bad propose..
why abishit afraid of third party if the land sorrounding preah vihear belong to thailand... cambodia never afraid of third party because land sorrounding the temple is really belong to cambodia according the the map of 1904-1907 and the judgment of International Court of Justice in 1962...
If Khmers are still stupid and dump, Khmers will have no lands at all in the future.
Abishit say that he will explain to the UN or International community, why abishit don't raise the land dispute with cambodia to UN or third party to solve this problem if the land sorrounding is belong to thailand... if the UN or third party see that land sorrounding is really belong to thailand, cambodia will withdraw all the soldier and people from this land.... if the abishit afraid of UN or international community it mean that he has bad propose to invade cambodia...
Abishit is the 21th century hitler
"We want to solve these problems peacefully, without the use of force," Mr Abhisit said.
Say what? Oh please! how many times has abhisit said this? Stop manipulating the situation, abhisit. There is nothing to resolve, so stop making it sound like you want to solve the issue. The whole world knows that Preah Vihear belongs to Cambodia. What part of it do you not understand?
If I were Hun Sen I will be ready for war because I don't let this young fool cursing me.
It's time for Cambodian government must go to the third party to help this issue. It seems that Thailand intentionally tries to delay the bilateral negotiation between the two nations, but at the same time, it tries to lobby with other countries amongst the regional state members and other international bodies while Cambodia is a bit behind the track if as the Cambodian PM mentioned yesterday. So, this tactic shows that Thailand is playing two-side faces, 1). Trying to publicly inform that it wants to solve the conflict bilaterally; but it is absolutely falsifying the international understandings and 2). Trying to lobby from one country to another amongst ASEAN members and other international bodies in order to provide the only one sided information from Thailand to make them trust and support.
Thailand is playing trick now in solving the border issue with Cambodia. Thailand claims the land surrounding the Khmer Temple of Preah Vihear area is baseless and for instead it is trying to violate the 1962 ICJ's verdict and wanted the world body to review everything again. If it is the case, Cambodia should also call for the return of all former lands/areas for example Surin, Bryram, Sisakiet and others which belong to before and after the Khmer Empire...
The suggestion from the Cambodian PM to conduct the international conference and other third party involvement is an excellent idea, which can avoid from the military involvement and the clashes. If Thailand brave enough and sure enough that Cambodia intrudes their territory, please follow the Cambodian PM's proposal/suggestion - so that everything will be solved peacefully with internationally recognized and accepted for all.
Since Hun Sen was a Khmer Rouge commander, now a Khmer Rouge leader and had many of his political opponents and journalists assassinated, I wonder if he have any plan to assassinate the Thai Prime Minister (Ahbullshit Vejjajiva)?
Whether seeking international help or not it's not the intention of Hun Sen. He makes this sound like he needs international help but in reality he is not - why?
He wants to shutdown the opposition and boos his patriotism among khmer on border issues both the east and the west. Think about this if he really want international help he would not make tie with Iran this time. He now very well that if he makes tie with Iran all the west will not happy with him, specially, the United State. So if he asks them hlep in border issue no want really want to help push this issue to international stage. So Hun Sen will have the pretext that he has seeked international help but it did not work because they they want to help him. Then no body can blame Hun Sen as the pupet of Viet. As long as Hun Sen has relationship with Iran no other countries in the west will help him at all. Wait and see folk.
Preas Vihear belongs to Cambodia no matter what Thailand is going to do . To me , I am not worry about losing it to Thailand . Since Hun Sen and alot of those soldiers along Thai-Cambodian border are fomer Khmer Rouge , I love to see Thai soldiers put a test on them to see how good they are . I don't care if some of them will die because I have no sympathy for former Khmer Rouge and people who support Hun Sen.
HunXen is un-educated and stupid.
Abishit is educated, but still stupid.
Why Abbullshit Vejjajiva affraid of Third party mediation? why scared Third party involve? Thailand has something to hide from the world? Cambodia must not talk with Thailand unless there's third party country mediation involve and witness...Otherwise, the meeting will be a wasted time again?
