as long as Cambodia is ruled by CPP it has no bright future

In 2010 Cambodia has reached a new dimension by setting up the military force. The endless borderline conflict with Thailand is not the real reason. As you know the fight over Preah Vihear has begun in 1953 when Cambodia achieved the independence and there is no significant element changed yet. CPP's leaders may be afraid of a potential coup so they demonstrate missile test to ensure their own supremacy. Additionally new tanks and military equipments are purchased. Cambodia apparently pursues a self-destructive strategy again. Thus, are you ready to close this dark chapter of 1975-1979 and open a new one? If so, what is Cambodia's last resort?

Keep staying passive or find the courage

Time has slowly come for the country to decide about its future. Cambodia has only the following two ways to go through if the world, in particular UN, hesitates to intervene. Unfortunately both require self- sacrifice. Either Cambodia disappears from the map forever in order to prevent from a next civil war or Khmer defenders sacrifice their life for the nation to gain absolute freedom, sovereignty and independence as a new start.

The former represents the non-violent path you have been struck in 1979. From the beginning and with violence Hanoi takes over control of the administration and government of Cambodia by installing pro-Hanoi officials and ministers who are educated (manipulated) by them and easy to handle for its "Tay Tien" expansion policy (CPP) to build a common defence wall (K5 plan) against the Chinese expansionism and communism (Khmer Rouge). For 10 years Vietnam's huge troops, including advisors and spies, occupies almost the whole country. During this time the army of occupation forces the Cambodian Government to sign several illegal treaties in which the nation loses significant water and land area. Moreover Hanoi orders to take precautions in social life. Cambodians have to participate in communism re-education and intensive Vietnamese language courses and generate a pro-communism movement, again renamed in SFDCM, which is in close relationship with Vietnamese VFF. And last but best Vietnam, most atheists and only a few Mahayanist, advises Cambodian Monks in Theravada- Buddhism.

Unofficially, nevertheless apparently, North Vietnamese still pursue the imperious goal to unite peninsula also known as Indochina. In 2002 all three countries undertook a common experiment, which is called triangle development. Vietnam assumes control over this project. There is no doubt that Vietnamese want to rule over Indochina. As a result Khmer Kandal will suffer the same fate as Khmer Krom and Laos. Do you really believe that the smiling ancient enemy becomes our best friend while he is hiding a sharp blade in his pants? Do you call this peace, cooperation and friendship? He is gladly sucking the Cambodian nation step by step.

The latter is the way, which Khmer people begin to get up and fight for its independence. In 1978 Vietnam invaded the country with 200,000 troops and occupied for at least 11 years under the guise of protecting it. After the announced withdrawal of the troops, Vietnam's expansion has changed from military occupation to hegemonie policy. In this context survivors of the auto-genocide were aware that Vietnam came for its own benefit. However as long as they could survive, they didn't care about tomorrow because tragic legacy has left behind by the Khmer Rouge regime. With this, the country has lost in a large part history, culture, religion, infrastructure, agriculture, academics and glance. Its people have lost family members, human dignity, universal rights, trust, courage and hope. Hence the traumatized Khmer people and descendant try to find a way around the problem in order to avoid any kind of brutal confrontation. CPP use this fear to its advantage so it could rule the country for more or less 30 years continuously.

Obviously the world sees a final political stable country with a slight economic growth, which gets back to its normal life. But in fact only the higher social class makes substantial profit and the majority of Cambodians become impoverished and afraid. The dictatorial government lead the country with simple principle: namely strong hand. It ignores human rights and right to freedom of expression due to corruption and disobeying of law. Further the population obtains no assistance from state since natural resources are exported to South East Asia région, which are often run by Vietnamese administration.

In the national assembly CPP claims 90 of 123 seats and 45 of 67 seats in senate. Neither the party nor its Prime Minister will freely abdicate their power; let's say, just hypothetically, if they would lose seats by election or the United Nations would takeover. Subsequently, as long as Cambodia is ruled by CPP it has no bright future. CPP's power counts on its military and police force, tycoons, Vietnam's financial support and on the approximately 30% illegal and 10% naturalized Vietnamese of 14.5 million population. In conclusion Cambodian People's Party will defend against losing of supremacy with all means.

Take action

To sum up, Cambodia has to make a sacrifice once again to ensure its sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and inviolability, neutrality and nation. Meanwhile, a new liberal and democratic generation grows up, who is well educated in different fields. Driven by sense of justice, desire for freedom, compassion for poor, general progress and sustainable peace this new force is wiling to clear the country of oligarchy. Cambodians from inland and abroad must unite and get courage to free the Khmer people. Only together, full of hope and trust, and with international military presence, Cambodia can prevent another suppression of political rally such as that one in 1998. To achieve it successfully, it is recommended to research and inform the people around you about Cambodia's true past, current situation and possible future. Secondly you should be prepared for mounting an approaching offensive with international support. Cambodia's future is in our hand.
