SRP CONDEMNS THREATS TO CLOSE UN OFFICE IN CAMBODIA
The Sam Rainsy Party, Cambodia’s second largest political party, strongly condemns threats made by Prime Minister Hun Sen during his October 27 meeting with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, to close the UN human rights office in Cambodia.
The SRP feels compelled to remind the Cambodian government that a UN human rights office operating in Cambodia is part of the implementation of the 1991 Paris Agreements on Cambodia that are binding all the signatories.
Article 17, in Part III entitled “Human Rights,” of the Agreement on a Comprehensive Political Settlement of the Cambodia Conflict, stipulates, “After the end of the transitional period, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights should continue to monitor closely the human rights situation in Cambodia, including, if necessary, by the appointment of a Special Rapporteur who would report his findings annually to the Commission and to the General Assembly.”
Article 3, point 3, of the Agreement Concerning the Sovereignty, Independence, Territorial Integrity and Inviolability, Neutrality and National Unity of Cambodia, confirms, “The United Nations Commission on Human Rights should continue to monitor closely the human rights situation in Cambodia, including, if necessary, by the appointment of a Special Rapporteur who would report his findings annually to the Commission and to the General Assembly.”
In order to “monitor closely the human rights situation in Cambodia,” the concerned UN body must operate and maintain an office in this country. Any attempt to close the existing UN office would be a serious breach to the Paris Agreements on Cambodia, all the more so given the deteriorating human rights situation in this country.

But he looks like a little kid who could not get his favorite candy, when Ban Ki-Moon told him that the UN office in Cambodia exist due to the mutual agreement between the UN and Cambodia. As for its staff that is the UN internal affairs.

Hun Sen is no doubt a war criminal who will be going to trial soon after his failure to stop the UNDP office and hindering ACCC. His files of evidences are counting every day with his ruthless criminal behaviors and activities. And there is no need for investigation at all to waste anytime or resource. He just arrogantly has demonstrated to the local and international with his delinquent attitude and dictatorship.
He will be tried in Hague not even in Scambodia and his Hanoi parent or King father can't even help to save his skin.

Is Cambodia a member of the United Nation? If 2/3 of the members vote to kick Cambodia out of UN,what does Cambodia govt do? Hun Sen will kill Khmer people like Pol Pot regime ? I think this time numerous countries will not still stand,they will send troops and catch Hun Sen and his clans alive.

Cambodia is member of communist Indochina, so closing down "HUMAN RIGHTS" office in phnom penh and eliminated voice of opposition party are the top priority for hun sen government.So in order to achieve his goal "samdacth kvack moma si jo HUN SEN", needs volunteer Phd,doctor,or master degree from the west,to help him manipulated democratic system. when plan are completed. you will be the first one to be killed. i still remember 1975 keep in mine HUN SEN is khmer rougs and also handicap.
