Translated from Khmer by Soy

Touch Naroth, the Phnom Penh city police commissioner, rejected all accusations made by the opposition and the civil society organizations. He declared that the deaths were not caused by the inability of the authority to reign in the situation, but that it was due to the stampeded by the huge crowd of people on a narrow bridge. He said: “I believe that the [police] authority completed their duty, they did good in helping and saving the victims on the Koh Pich bridge already. Personally, I worked hard to help them also, but we couldn’t help them on time because there was too many people, and the bridge was narrow so it was difficult to work there.”

all khmer leaders and gov't official should be required to earn at least one american universities or colleges degree before they are allowed to run for leader or official, i think. this is way will be well educated in addition to requiring khmer education for them.

"they did good in helping and saving the victims . . . . "

this dick head is talking about "after the facts" not the "prior incident".

Just stay home all Khmers if there are any Bon OM Touk next year or more years to come because as long as these crooks in power they will slaughter more Khmers.

All what Touch Naroth said was to clean up his mistake.

When we compare to France & Khmer word said " TRAVAILER A LA ROUCH KLUON". That what he said.

The role of Police commissioner is to responsable to all causes that have in the city.

city official should reform and the system should be reformed so any future disaster can be meet swiftly and expeditiously, etc... maybe, too, cambodia need to upgrade and expand more hospitals, more ambulances, fire trucks, paramedics, etc, and must beef them up, especially during major holidays. it is truly a lesson for all to learn from, especially gov't officials like city, police, fire department, etc, etc... gov't is responsible to call on behalf of cambodia and khmer people the much needed reforms in the system, i think! it is right so to called some officials "incompetent" because they show so and they are, really! maybe they lack or did not get enough education, etc... whatever the case maybe, they need to handle this better next time, i think! no excuses whatsoever!

at a time like this, respective officials should listen to constructive criticism and be humbled about it all, instead of showing dictatorial, fascism, authoritarian character, etc because it is now very unpopular style of leadership in cambodia, belief it or not! please keep up with the pace of changes; yes, people and country changed, so should old beaucracy, thinking, mentality, technology, etc, etc... please listen to the people's cries, we want better way of life, safety, for all people and our posterity, enjoyment, etc... let it all be a lesson in life for us, a rude awakening, that is!

Anonymous said...

leaders, be humble, you job is not permanent in the new era of cambodia and the world, ok!

What a terrible remark! " we have done a good job!"??????????? What if they have done worst!

I couldn't believe my eye to see this man saying that his men have done a great work by letting nearly 500 people dead!!!!!

What if his daughter was one of the victim?

Anyway, he is not going to step down, since he paid a lot of money for that position.

How many of Cambodian people lost their life is that their destiny ?, Police leader has never accept their mistake at all, but they know the bridge is narrow, right. Now Thon Chhey ask you SIR? When the bridge is narrow why the policemen allowed the innonsence people acrossed this bridge so much, have the policemen no right to stop them? Where were the civil policemen at that time?

Denied denied that is very good, but died our Khmer blood.

Sam Dach Hun Sen, please check those policemen again, thank Sam Dech.

I propose to change the name of Koh Pich into koh moranack( Island of the deaths ).
This island was stolen from poor farmers by Hun Sen 'friend ( Pung Sovann ). The poor farmers have celebrated the ceremony of curse for anyone aquiring this Island. Therefore anyone supporting this island to be floorished be affected. I call to all authority to turn this Island into birds conservation by growing more trees and no more development. we keep this island for birds habitats. This iSland is no longer a safe island for human being to enjoy and shall be converted into animals and birds habitat.

Your Majesty Samdech Ta former King Norodom Sihanouk,

Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen,

Thank you for your both kindness and understanding.
What we need is prevention methods, not to let this type of accident happen again in the future.

It also makes me very worried to see so much alcohol allowed to enter or be produced in our beloved Kingdom of Cambodia? What about “ YA BA “ and other types of DRUGS from Thailand and Vietnam?

Can His Majesty Samdech Ta and Samdech Hun Sen stop all sorts of drugs coming to Cambodia? The accident may not be related to drugs and alcohol but just some thing that I could not sleep peacefully from now on to the future, in the names sake of true Khmer citizen.

Can Samdech Hun Sen kindly ask all 5 million Vietnamese illegal immigrants to peacefully return to Vietnam, so Koh Pich will not be too crowded more and more every day, every month and every year to come.
All Vietnamese illegal immigrants can easily come in and settle inside Cambodia even though they already have their own country Vietnam.

When Cambodia is too crowded, definitely we Khmer people can not go to settle inside Vietnam, can we?
Please Vietnamese, you said you came to rescue us from Pol Pot, and you don’t want to return home, it is not right according to 23rd October 1991 Paris Peace Agreement, can all of you go back to your country now.

Vietnamese illegal immigrants, you see because 5 million of you are inside Cambodia, it makes us too crowded and we wasted our lives at Koh Pich without good reasons.

Your Vietnamese Communism expansionist mind in Cambodia, is to give an excuse to China mainland to occupy your Spratly Islands, Parcel Islands, the whole of your Eastern sea border and perhaps the Northern border sooner or later.

5 million Vietnamese illegal immigrants in Cambodia, please go back home to defend your country from Chinese mighty economic invasion.

May I pray to God and the Lord Jesus Christ that those who have lost loved one will be comforted.

My condolences to all the victim's family.

Regards,

Kulen Monorom

Touch Naroth said,"was due to the
stamped by the huge crowd of people
on a narrow bridge"Touch Naroth Knew that the span is too narrow. How come Touch Naroth let crowded people to cross or stay on it? Naroth should divide people into a small group to go in and out of it.You should be responsible for this event. Touch Naroth must reseign from the police chief.

If you knew the bridge so narrow why do you allow so many people in? it is truely police fault!! AH TOUCH NAROAT GET OUT!!!!!

We the Cambodian people inside and outside the country call on Hun Sen and it cabinets to step down for its incompetence during Koh Pich chaos.

Not only the police chief said like this but ministry of information K. Kagnarith stated the same argument (see the Interviewn of TOR-TOR-KOR
TV with Kagnarith). Not only under 500 death of Khmers but more than this number will no one risign from their post, that is Xambodia. Look to South Korea, only 4 dead and more 15 injured (2 of them were Soldiers), defence minister resign quckly 2 days later from his post.

Dear All Readers:

Hun Xen believes in its superstitions (Bramah). He is willing to do everything (even its people's lives) to secure his fake power (not including his visible beliefs).
He pretends that is the accident, but remember the tragedy is the planned tragedy:

- Authority was not present (until 1 hour or so later)
- No true investigation being taken seriously, instead the scene was cleaned up very quickly.
- Hun Xen and his PigHD Bun Rany has 70% share of the whole Koh Pich development, followed by Kim Soy (Khmer Rough Treasurer) and now is the Canadia Bank's owner, Kith Meng...etc.
- The rescue team and authorities were not responsible for the event and let the deaths escalated..
- Hun Xen suddenly came out and declared Nov 25 (instead of Nov 22) as the national holiday.
...etc.

Look at things carefully. Hun Xen pretends crying in front of the public, but that is not the true pain and sympathy. He used to kill more than just that number of people during K-5, 97' coup...etc you name it.

Just a school of thoughts for you and Pro-CPPs.

We need a true responsible leader.

My deep regret for Khmer citizens and wish them all rest in peace and heaven.

Khmer Son!
