An organization monitoring Cambodia's war crimes tribunal has warned that continued political interference could undermine the court's legacy.
The Open Society Justice Initiative has condemned Cambodian government statements that the UN-backed tribunal must close after completing its second case.
Their case is scheduled to start next year, but prosecutors also want to investigate another five former Khmer Rouge.
The government said it would not allow that, and cited political instability as its reason.
But the OSJI said decisions about trials were the tribunal's to make, and warned that political interference risked leaving "a legacy of impunity rather than justice."
The court's first defendant, the regime's security chief Comrade Duch, was earlier this year jailed for 30 years.

the governing body of this puppetic government comprises of all ex-KR who had committed the same crimes as Pol Pot, Khiev Samphan, Ieng Sary, Khiev Ponnary, Ieng Thirith, Nuon Chea, and Tamok, etc. did, that's why they want it closed. The Irony is, those who want Khmer Rouge trial to continue is the ones who condemn Hun Sen and his party for join hands with the Vietnamese to over throw the Khmer Rouge regime!

The CG is afraid. Deadly afraid of case 003 and 004, because it will unveil Vietnam and China's heavy involvement. They are their bosses also during those 4 years of killing machine time.
The world must believe, KRT cann't find justice until those two cases are moving forward, because those 5 criminals that are in custody right now did not act alone. Angkar Leu or the higher up officers of the Khmer Rouge are those people in case 003 and 004. If The UN wants to get to the bottom of it and really wants to know why 2 millions people were dead like animals during the Khmer Rouge's reign, case 003 and case 004 must go on.
Only the former Khmer Rouge still believe Youn did all the killing, and Pol Pot is not guilty. These same people are strong supporter of Sam Rainsy. While they are accusing HS to be former KR and try to attach the guilt of the killing field to him, they make every kind of excuse for Pol Pot and his clique.
Why the Khmer Rouge hate HS so much, because HS is the one who over throw Khmer Rouge regime.

the answer to your question is a real simple one: Pol Pot and his clique had committed badly vicous crimes against Khmer people. They even killed many hundreds of Yuon villagers at Hatien. Every act of a man must yield its consequences sooner or later. When their evil acts ripen, then the Khmer Rouge sffer grief. Hun Xen, Pen Sovann, Heng Samrin, Chea Sim, and many of the like are just pure monkeyes being istalled in power by the Yuon invaders. These turned to be smater after they have power and money in their hands. They scoop all the credit given by Yuons, and make up a lot of shit to distort the whole truth to fool some fools like you.
