Trying to ward off your neighbours' encroachments is frustrating enough, historically speaking, but now for your government to be defending and sanctioning the encroachments as well in the name of solidarity and fraternity is adding unnecessary insult to injuries, sowing the seeds for future disharmonies between the nations in question.
The idea that Cambodia encroaches into Vietnam in certain areas as well is hardly a satisfactory defense, particularly, given that all the complaints over such encroachments and the evidence pointing to them so far have emanated from the Khmer side of the border.
Why is it so difficult to demarcate the two countries' mutual border line without allowing the markers to intrude or veer into either nation's territory? How far is any Cambodian government worth its salt be prepared to permit or approve these margins for land losses due to 'technical complications or issues', especially, assuming that perhaps, one of these losses in 'makeweight' contain places of historical significance like the Temple of Preah Vihea, for instance?
Is it not far better for Cambodia that the entire border mapping exercise be postponed until it is competently and transparently handled; a process allowing independent third party involvement and verification based upon internationally recognised documents rather than aiming for solutions that handicap Khmer farmers and further amputate Khmer nation's already dwindling territory?
Is this how the Vietnamese leadership is demonstrating before the Khmer people that it has chosen to eschew the kind of 'rural mediaeval mentalities' it once ascribed to the 'Pol Pot-Ieng Sary clique'?

The real solution to the border problems between Cambodia and Vietnam is not difficult to solve as one can always get a neutral third party such as France to weigh in and find a just solution acceptable to both countries.
The real problem is that Hun Sen cannot afford to displease the Vietnamese for fear that they may decide to help his Cambodian competitors such as Chea Sim or Heng Samrin or someone else to take over his job.
That seems to be a characteristic of any Cambodian leader who never truly fights for his country first and there always seems to be other Cambodians who are willing to sacrifice their country so they can get to the top by serving the neighbours'interests.
History shows that it has never been the other way around when it comes to our 2 rapacious neighbours.

But yuon has used Hun Sen regime as a tool to encroach into Khmer territory .
Look at Hun Sen high ranking members:
1. Heng Samrin ( Khmer Viet Minh, Khmer Rouge, CPP ),
2. Chea Sim ( Khmer Viet Minh, Khmer Rouge, CPP ).
3. Meas Sophea ( Yuon born in Vietnam, serving as Royal Army Chief in Hun Sen regime ).
4. Hor Namhong ( former prison chief of B 32 between 1975-1979 ).
5. Chan Si ( Khmer Viet Minh ) same as Ros Samai, Sai Bouthong.
6. Pen Sovan ( former Khmer Issarak, Khmer Viet Minh, former Prime Minister of CPP)
So if we look at CPP high ranking members they all are yuon and Khmer Viet Minh and Khmer Issarak.
So yuon running Cambodia under the name of CPP.
They built those tomstones for all the monkeys out there to hang out and well fed with tons of cognac bottles.
The D Head of the Cambodian Border Committee Var Kim Hong will proof to you these border post did encroach into Yuon territory by up to 15KMs. Fact: Yuon move to live in Cambodia land then became Yuon land even the border post in Khmer land can be previously Yuon land .
With the D head like this to look after Khmer/Yuon border, it is hopeless!!

Thai,Lao,and Vietnam must respect borders beetwen them and Khmer borders.The UN should solve problems borders with these four countries.
The Vietnam and Thailand are intruders since after Khmer Empire.These two countries must stop and obey the rule of the international laws.
The UN general secretary must open meeting to solve this problem.
If the UN does not do so,Khmer will lose their land to these two savage countries.

What solution does Rong Chhung brought to the villagers? or it's just a show off visit? As a fellow Khmer, we should think of solution to prevent further encroachment, not as an opportunist for personal gains.
I used to admire Rong Chhun, but after the event of Medical students protest last year, I lost trust on him. You know reason why he initiated the protest, because his daughter was a failed candidate in that exam as well!

If Hun Sen care about border encroachment by yuon ,he will die like Chan sy .Now Hun Sen and his family become a millioner in the world .So he has to save his life for to be millioner or sacrifice his life for khmer country ?.In his mouth and his head it has only a lie and disgrace .I think the khmer people can say who is Hun Sen ?
