A world ruled by imagination

A world ruled by imaginationOpinion by Anonymous
Khmerization please post my comment on KI.

A win-win policy is global success strategy, may be the only most successful strategy that has existed in the universe.

The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) or the opposition Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) must set an acceptable strategy for the majority of the people to follow. In order to gain supports, the SRP has to set a clear role model or imagination to form the vivid picture for people to see that will lead them to believe in the party and eventually support its causes. The SRP must show leadership model, which means to bring a higher or greater standard than ordinary people are willing to accept. It must lead to a change, but if things do not need a change then we don't need a new leader. We may just want a manager only, that would be enough. The SRP is trying to gain supports by using a model of criticising the individual Hun Sen only. All SRP members, hundreds and thousands of them, have wasted their energy and times by focusing on and directing negative campaigns against the CPP and then spread it out.

Ok, here are the outcomes: all forms of criticism, jealousies, angers and hatred are the forms of the ghosts of all destruction any man or woman possessed. These forms are self-destructive. People will not be willing to join, listen and support the SRP which have mastered the art of criticism of individuals and the whole Party.

May I reach out to HE. Sam Rainsy. Please reform or alter your policy platform to set more constructive role model, lift it up or bring a better level for all SRP supporters. Let them see in the future that if you win, all those people who support you will benefit from your rule....etc ,. I want to see all SRP members be smarter, wishful and become better than 5 years ago.

The CPP has built a future for Cambodia. It has built more than 20,000 schools, thousand kilometers of roads, hospitals and built a fundamental capitalist society that lead to civilization, stronger economy and a better living standard now. That is the vivid picture the people of today bear in mind.

Please Khmerization help edit my article, Thank you.

Dear writer thanks for a great article.
Despire a great positive of CPP you mentionned have you ever think about what are the negative impacts made also by CPP. Look at the cambodia nowaday on the following views:
1 What is the eduction! Cambodia having the highest ratio of doctorate to it's population. It's read ashame. What is the shit doctorate degree of Chamreun university, do you feel ashane?

2 Have a look at the ratio of excellency among their state employees, what is that? have you ever been ashame of that?

that only a very small piece, please open your eyes and look more

YOU ALSO SAID THAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS ESTABLISHED A CAPITALIST SOCIETY IN CAMBODIA.NOTHING CAN BE
FAR FROM THE TRUTH BUT LET'S BE HONEST, CAN YOU TELL US WHO ELSE HOLDS THE CAPITALS APART FROM HUN SEN, BUN RANY AND FAMILY AND ASSOCIATES???
YOU ALSO SAID THAT CPP HAS BUILT A FUTURE FOR CAMBODIA. WOW WHAT A FUTURE, A SIX BILLION PLUS DOLLAR

With 20,000 schools, Cambodia's literacy rate is way below Cuba, which is up at 97 percent.

Only 64% of female are literate. While that look like a nice number, consider this: 56 percent are illiterate! That is a huge percentage of potential wasted.

real GDP growth rate is -(negative) 2%.

and 31% live under the poverty line.

Anonymous, the number of school is not the same thing as the quality of school. Please don't confused the two. Do not forget to give credit also to private enterprises and NGOs that are responsible for setting up some of the best schools the government can't even match.

So far as concerning school, the thing that we know Hun Sen's government are good at is prop up a building, write Hun Sen's name on the sign and then leave it to crumble! There is really no nationwide systematic program for analyzing quality of education. Cheating is a huge problem in Cambodia - supported of course by our very own Hun Sen and cronies, to be at the top, "the end justifies the end", even though the meaning ends up short-changing yourself and destroying your own community based on fragile foundation.

So far, a lot the comments I read, seem to be unable to separate Sam Rainsy and KI Media, and "opposition" and general dissent.

Anything or anybody whose opinion are that "Hun Sen is doing a horrible job developming a sustainable future" gets lumped into "Sam Rainsy Supporters".

Frankly, I am tired of getting mindlessly labeled by such people.

Hun Sen should understand that those who do not follow him do not mean Sam Rainsy, and that Sam Rainsy likewise, do not represents our individual Cambodian voices also and that while KI opposes Hun Sen's stupid policies, they don not speak for Sam Rainsy nor do Sam Rainsy speaks for KI and it's readers!

OK Mr. "win, win" policy.

I am supprise that you mention Mr. Sen building more than 20,000 schools.

1. Where does those money come from? The threat to those Oukna? Mr. Monk Rithy seems very kinds inditual...every time Mr. Sen looked at him ....he gave Mr. Sen two schools worth almost $30,000. But what has Mr. Sen had to give back to Mr. Rithy? All the signitures, joint ventures with Malaysia...how many hundreds of thousand hectars that Mr. Sen gave to Mr. Rithy? And this is only one example of Mr. "win/win" policy!! How about hundreds more Oukna.....? Yo! Mr. "win/win" policy of "fundamental capitalist society that lead to civilization"? I agreed with you on this point, but you are talking about the capitalist society for the top 1-2% of the Khmer poputation!!!(dictatorship policy) Mr. win/win policy - your Mr. Sen govt. do not have a triggle down wealth policy to the poor (it a drope/not even a drip policy...enough for them to stay a live to vote and to ligitimize Mr. Sen regime).

2. Mr. Win/win policy...over 200,000 school building? Like I said before building do not teach children. Teachers teach children!!!! Thus, I am surprise that you're not mention about how many qualify teachers to teach the children in those over 200,000 school building! BTW - how much those teachers get pay Mr. win/win policy?

Those school buildings are window dressing policy of Mr. Sen regime build them just to win the vote!

****Mr. win/win policy...just for your informaiton: School buildings do not teach children, teachers teach children****

A Rebuttal to the Win-Win-Policy
First of all I would like to thank the author of the article for putting forth constructive criticism.

I couldn’t agree more that all major political parties should have acceptable strategy for the majority of the people. I couldn’t help but wonder what is acceptable? Whose standard is it? Who defines the standard?
If the author simply means that each party should have a clearly defined vision and stay away from attacking each other, I would say, “Bravo to that.”

In closing, the author slipped this statement, “The CPP has built a future for Cambodia. It has built more than 20,000 schools, thousand kilometers of roads, hospitals and built a fundamental capitalist society that lead to civilization, stronger economy and a better living standard now. That is the vivid picture the people of today bear in mind.”

Without rigorous analysis, the statement appears to have merit. But if one takes a minute to look beyond the obvious, one would agree that the statement does not mean anything by itself.

Let’s pretend for a moment that you are a brand new employee. When you walk in the office, your employer gives you list of job requirements. You suppose, for example, to complete tasks A, B, C, D, and E by the end of the month. Let’s pretend further that, by the end of the month, you complete tasks A, B, C, D, and E.
At the end of the first month, you and your employer go through a performance evaluation. In the end, the employer wrote on the performance evaluation that, “You have met the job requirement.”
You would agree that the employer is fair. You simply meet the requirements; you did not go above and beyond your required tasks.

Similarly, we can say the same thing about the above statement. We, the people, hire CPP to form a government. The government’s tasks are to build the nation’s infrastructures. Although, we should give the government the credit for building the nation’s infrastructures when we don’t even know if it meets the requirements.

I am not here to refute the number of schools the government has built. I am simply here to refute in principle that such statement in and of itself does not mean much. One cannot decipher whether the government has done a good job or not because we, as the Cambodian people, never set the expectations. The statement may be good for political propaganda but it has no merit for analysis.

We should also take a moment to distinguish the term we use. Cambodian People’s Party is a political party and the government is much more that a party. The author states that CPP has built… Does the author mean the government has built? If the government in fact has built those schools, the credit must be shared with all the parties that made up the government.

A good citizen should pay careful attention the terms or words that are being used in political discussion because words are fundamental building blocks that form our world view. If we allow words to obscure its meaning, our world view will also be obscured.
Nevertheless, I want to thank the author for having the courage to put forth constructive criticism which is badly needed.

By the way, I am not a member of SRP nor am I a member of any Khmer political party.
