A new, modern war room has been built at the 1st Army Region headquarters as a command post to cope with situations on parts of the border with both Cambodia and Burma, and internal political crises, a military source said.
The 1st Army Area Command is in charge of Bangkok and the Central provinces, including the adjoining Thai-Burmese border in Prachuap Khiri Khan and Kanchanaburi provinces in the west and the lower half of the Thai-Cambodia border, operating out of Prachin Buri. It controls as many as three infantry divisions, plus cavalry and artillery.
The source said the new war room was built on the orders of army commander-in-chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha soon after he assumed the post in October last year.
Gen Prayuth is of the opinion that since the 1st Army Region headquarters commands main army units located both in Bangkok and throughout the Central Region, it should have a war room with modern communications equipment, the source said.
The 1st Army Region headquarters is also where army chiefs and senior government figures hold meetings to monitor particular situations and give orders at times of political unrest, and of late especially the activities of protesters of different colour codes.
Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban, who is in charge of security affairs, frequently used the First Army headquarters in Bangkok as a situation monitoring centre.
The new war room is located on the 5th floor of the 1st Army Region headquarters. It has remote conference satellite connections with all border defence forces, including the Burapa Task Force responsible for part of the Thai-Cambodian border.
Many top brass attended a function marking the 101st anniversary of the establishment of the 1st Army today and visited the new war room. They included Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon, Gen Prayuth, former army chief and 1st Army region commander Gen Anupong Paojinda, and privy councillor Gen Pijit Kullavanijaya.
They were received by Lt-Gen Udomdet Seetabut, the current 1st Army Region commander.

Gov't did the right things, they used to send all Gov't officials back to school, but now they raplaced them, becouse it been using same energy and same effort to patch all leacking boat. Now Gov't are much smarter they put new boat, it least headach, and more productive for the long run, loser is stile a loser. Any one who ignited people power whild Thai organizing new war room, it not good result for you, stope greedy political embitouse, use democratice ways by fair ellection. If Khmer allready united stay with that, unless Hun sen he gon wild like Plo pot. Thailand needs a war room? The nature of war had change so much over the years! War can be fought by any mean by conventional or unconventional whether through the use of military, economic, politic or use airplane as missile or use human as suicide bomber!
It doesn't really matter whether Thailand or anybody want to go to war with Cambodia because the third party will change the whole nature of the war! Then outcome of any defeat will give rise to guerilla warfare and the use of million of landmines…!

Most of Khmers people hate Hun Sen because this leader is the Viet'slave selling and giving the Khmer land to Youn without agreement from all Khmers.
Presently Hun Sen is a strong man because behind Hun Xen are Viet advisers and army (in Khmer uniform), the real Khmer have restricted power
to lead their own land, a lot of stars general in Cambodia are only a show, in fact for instance, 3 stars general of real Cambodia army must respect and
hear the instruction from 1 star general of Viet in Cambodia (=Viet general in Khmer uniform), that is the fact story event. Remenber to old story: that's why Pol Pot against
Viet so hard despite both communist: Pol Pot was Khmer communist but for Khmer natinalist, Viet is also communist but use the manipulated
communism theory to annex Khmer land for ever and always try the expansion's policy to neighboring countries like Khmer and Loas and also against
China too but they has no chance against the Dragon (because Dragon know exactly about this cheaper theory very well).
Since 18 th century till now ,the Viet esta has achieved their to control Champa, Khmer Krom and Loas complexly, now Khmer land fast 80% of their goal and is Thai but maybe they still
not enough for them ?? ). As a proof with China, Loas has a long border with China, if China has aggresive policy with Loas then Loas has no Chance
against them but chanesse mentality and behavius is respected people. Business is active with trusted word. In fact Hun Sen is only PAPER TIGER, this

them. But if CPP don't get order from Viet, then YES. If Thai army come Khmers will turn back to Thai and hunt Youn every where like during 1970-75.

It's no surpirse, Thailand always hype up the rhetoric of war with Cambodia. Thailand foresaw that war is the only solution with Cambodia. Everytime there is minor border issue, Thailand quickly mobolize her military hoping to scare Cambodia to submission. Thailand is gambling big if she desired to wage war with Cambodia. She is betting on herself that her military superiority will easily win over Cambodia. The reality is, it would be delusional for Thailand to wage war with Cambodia.
I'm not a war monger so I don't support any action that lead to war. However, I do want to inject some logic into the mind of those who highly desire to see Thailand invade Cambodia. As far as military hardwares, Cambodia is no comparison to Thailand. So you have fancy guns, can you fight in a battle? As far as experiences, Cambodia had 30 plus years, Thailand, almost nothing. Psychologically, Cambodia is well prepare for the loss of lives in case there was war with Thailand. If Thailand invaded Cambodia, Thailand will need a stomach to tolerate with a very long and bitter fight. Past history had proven that when Champa invaded Khmer in 12th century, Khmer put up 20 plus years of fighting and driving out Cham invader and conquered Champa in the process. In 1979, Vietnam invaded Cambodia, Khmer put up 10 plus years of fighting to drive out Viet invader, not to mention 60,000 bodybags being sent back to Vietnam. If Thailand invaded Cambodia, Thailand need to put this part of Khmer historical facts into perspective before considering an invasion. Consider yourself be warned.
