"After the clashes at the border, the tide of events has twisted in the Thai favour. The [balance] of power has shifted away from Hun Sen, who now scrambles for UN Security Council intervention"

A diabolical plot on the Cambodian border

The Nation

It looks like a cat-and-mouse game again as Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is facing two wars ... One at the Cambodian border and the other on Rajadamnoen Road at the back of the Government House. The yellow shirts and the red shirts are now going after the Democrat-led government in earnest.

The "war" against Cambodia has come to the prime minister as a big shock. He is not ready for it. But since the arrest of seven Thais in late December - for trespassing on what Cambodia says is its territory - events have been moving dangerously out of control.

Initially, Abhisit was no match for his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen, who was seen to control the game. Abhisit's hotline to Hun Sen could not effect an immediate release of the seven Thais. Kasit Piromya, the foreign minister, also failed to secure the release of the Thais, resulting in a huge diplomatic loss of face.

The arrest of the seven Thais appeared to be part of a diabolical plot. Why have we arrived at this point with an armed conflict against Cambodia?

From my February 7 TweetDeck:

"People in the government, in the Army, in the high-level and local bureaucracies have vested interests tied up with Cambodia."

"[There is] no unity in the country also."

"The government lacks unity."

"Our PM is weak, [he] can't handle the simmering conflict."

"It was a big shock that the PM, foreign minister, and defence and national security bowed to [Hun Sen] by admitting that seven Thais had encroached into Cambodian land."

"The most important questions: Where were the seven arrested? Why [were they] arrested? What must Thailand do to protect our rights and sovereignty?"

"Before the arrests, a Cambodian colonel had got an order from Phnom Penh one day ahead to arrest the Thais."

"Instead of sending the Thais to Sri Sophong Sereisophon [or Sisophon], the Thais [had to] be sent to Phnom Penh instead."

"It was reported that this colonel has a former wife whose family owned Cambodia's largest tapioca plant, which supplies tapioca to Thailand."

"We have to understand that the disputed area is plagued with human trafficking, contraband."

"The question is whether the disputed area is designed to serve business interests between some Thai and [Cambodian] leaders."

"There is a special economic zone in Poipet and Aranyaprathet promoted by both [the] Thai and [Cambodian] governments. The Memorandum of Understanding BE 2543 is part of [that] package."

"This economic zone [will] be linked with Cambodia's 2,500 rai investment area established at Poipet and O'Neang, opposite Ban Pa Rai in Aranyaprathet."

"In effect, Cambodia is promoting a special economic zone at the border, a package that includes the land of our country."

"Once foreign companies or foreign powers invest in the special economic zone at Poipet, [the] Thai military [will] be rendered obsolete at the border."

"After the clashes at the border, the tide of events has twisted in the Thai favour. The [balance] of power has shifted away from Hun Sen, who now scrambles for UN Security Council intervention. He does not want to consult Asean either."

"Abhisit and Kasit have rushed [to] stitch the wounds. They stick to the ground rules that any conflict with Cambodia can be settled bilaterally. It is just a mini-series of border clashes. But Hun Sen proclaims that a full-scale war is going on."

"The Thai military is lurking in the wings, while the yellow shirts are staging rallies in their own fashion to topple the government. The red shirts, who also want the government out, have to join as conspirators."

"[The] Scorpion[s], the German rock band, [are] coming to town. I can hear their famous song, "Winds of Change", ringing in the air."

None sense news. The fact is Thailand triggers the latest issue. This time Hun Sen administration will face Abhisit at the UN. Let's see if Thailand can avoid it loosing face internationally. Seems like Abhisit has a big headache and hasn't had much sleep lately for military and diplomacy front. Keep going…Abhisit. I hope your action would satisfy your yellow color PAD gang.

Fuck You Mr. Kasith,

You should pay close attention to your own Professor who have been speaking against Thailand's aggression toward Cambodia. Prince Namrong, Prince Theravong and your present King Chulalongkhorn, all have made mistake and all trying to change history books to cover those mistakes, in addition, they want the next generation of Thai young men and women to turn against Cambodia. Ignorance will not be excused. Why tha fuck you are attacking on my PM Hun Sen? Who tha fuck are you Kasit? Your own fucking Professor who has graduated at Harvard has better than sense than you and Abphisit. You and your Pm needs some lessons from him. Learn the truth. Prince Namrong was invited to Preah Vihear during the time of the argument why didnt your Prince Namrong said anything to that matter? Why? Because Prince Namrong knows that Preah Vihear belongs to Cambodia and Preah Vihear was built by the hands of all Cambodians. You need to shut the fuck up. And about the fucking 4.6 km also belongs to Cambodia. You need some lessons from your own fucking Professor you stupid ass. Do you think because you have the US behind you and you think you are all that? Your fucking country is a coward just like what has happened during tha Japanese invasion in Southeast Asia. Your fucking leaders took the opportunity to kiss Japanese's ass by joining the Axis Power so your fucking country dont have to be colonized by the fucking Japs. Do you think I dont know these things? You cant hide it motherfucker no more, even your own fucking Professor knows this. If we are going back to the 1954 Geneva Convention it will tell you exactly what happened during time of war. Nothing will be excepted when your fucking head is being by a gun. Even Treaty will not be recognized. The fucking US and British know this better than your fucking King Chulalongkhorn, you fucking piece of shit. I hope this message will get to you motherfucker. This is in english and I hope you can read it as well.

Thank You

"After the clashes at the border, the tide of events has twisted in the Thai favour. “

=After the clashes and it was in Thai favor because the Thai use Cluster Bomb which is illegal under Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM). The Thai Cluster Bomb rained down on the Khmer-Hindu temple and indiscriminately killing Cambodian soldiers and Cambodian people!

still insist on bilateral talk and Cambodian government would rather talk to the UNSC!

=The Cambodian government doesn’t need to talk to the Thai leaders or Thai military thugs because from the past experience the bilateral talks are used to buy more time for the Thai military thugs promote more conflicts! Cambodian government want to end the conflict!

The [balance] of power has shifted away from Hun Sen, who now scrambles for UN Security Council intervention. He does not want to consult Asean either."

=The balance of power has shifted to nowhere! Now it is the UNSC which is the world supers have to decide whether they want the Thailand and Cambodia to prolong the conflict or end the conflict by using the rule of law!

Any article from THE NATION or BANGKOK POST is not even worth a toilet paper. It so subjective and bias. A nation of shameless liars and cheaters.

Problem with Thai is that they are too highly thinking of themselve. Tell me one thing that Thai evr produce/contribute to world society at large?...Exactly, nothing! Here, and now, they want Preah Vihear so bad that they have no shame. Damn, build one. Plenty of mountains, pick one, may be in Chieng Mai... Chieng Mai was Khmer land too. No, build some where, way up close to Chinese border. Khmer may take back Chieng Mai, may take us long, but does not mater, we will plan the seed to take back all Khmer land.

Sorry, back to the subject. Yeah, build something with your own hands, make yourself proude. Taking someone's else temple is not something you should be proude of, especially sacrify life...your soldier has family, my soldier has family... leave our Preah Vihear alone, and for the last time, not Preah Viharn, no-no, say PREAH VIHEAR!

Thanong Khanthong, what are you trying to say? Do not understand sh*t coming out of your faulty mouth. E-bar, lob lob.

The Youn government in Phnom Penh is doing a good job to protect Preah Vihear Temple.

Thai is really afraid of the Indo-Chinese federation controlled by Hanoi.
