PHNOM PENH, Cambodia - Cambodia's leader has offered words of peace to Thailand, a day after the United Nations rebuffed his request to intervene in his country's sporadic armed border conflict with its bigger neighbour.
Prime Minister Hun Sen said Tuesday that his country needs peace with its neighbours to foster development. He urged that the deadly border issue be quickly solved and that fighting not be allowed to spread, calling for "a border of peace, friendship and co-operation."
The U.N. Security Council expressed "grave concern" Monday at the clashes and called for a permanent cease-fire to resolve the conflict in the disputed land surrounding Preah Vihear temple, a U.N. World Heritage site. At least eight people have died in fighting that began Feb. 4.

Ah Stupid Hor 5 Hong is an idiot for proposing to close the UN office related to Khmer Rouge Tribunal in Phnom Penh to Ban Ki Moon during his last visit for fears of being tried in court as being a former Khmer Rouge Beung Trobek prison chief and now he will be rejected by UN Security Council for his broken English. There is no doubted in my mind that U.N unwilling to support the Khmer thugs regime like Hun sen and cpp cronies, I remember last year when Hun thugs and his army was launching rocket testing, and there were indonesian official has stated a comment that Hun thugs should not practice this activity, because that would cause peace & instability in the standoff between Thai & Cambodia at that time Hun sen made a comment threaten them.
Now that we are at the war with Thai, it show clearly that Hun thug
provoke the war, and that is one of many reason that Thai are shown to be favor in this conflict.
So we Khmer need to abandon Hun sen and overthrow him now, this is a best time now that UNSC in a position to condemn Hun thug, and support Khmer people and Thai troop working together and free our motherland.

of course cambodia and everybody too wants peace! but still they should resolve the disputed map to make sure the two countries are using the same map from now on, not siem using their own unilateral map while cambodia uses the 1907 internationally recognized map, etc! that is the root of the conflict. so, if they can agree to use the same map, then this conflict will be settled amicably. the key solution on the map the two countries to be used as one only, really! and the UN mediators must make sure the two are using the same map to demarcate and clarify each country's demacation, etc, ok!
