Phnom Penh – Tomorrow, i.e. on Monday 21 Feb 2011, the UN will bestow the title of “famous person” to the Chumteav Bandit Bun Rany Hin Xen for her joint action with the UN Secretary-general in women and children’s health. The ceremony will take place at the peaceful building of the Council of Ministers.
The UN will bestow this “famous person” title based on the strong work action by the Chumteav – whom we are proud of – to help save the poor and the victims without discrimination and political discrimination [KI-Media note: only if they belong to the CPP]. She also maintains her role of generosity and she also raises the value of women and children’s health.
The ceremony to bestow the title of “famous person” to Chumteav Bandit Bun Rany Hin Xen will be held under the presence of Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary-general, who will visit Cambodia on 21 February. [KI-Media Note: This must be a stealth visit by Ban Ki-moon to Cambodia, we have not heard any announcement to this effect].

Yes KI anything CPP has done is wrong. Any recognition by international community to CPP members is a fluke. I'm pretty sure KI will praise this recognition 1000 times if it is given to any SRP members. Biased aside, you should give credit when it's due.

Ban Ki-Moon plays a very dangerous game to taint the UN credibility with award presentation. This makes the UN Award category to be meaningless. It also reflects how lousy the UN under Ban Ki-Moon administration, when dealing with human rights and democracy. How can we trust the UN with this kind of attitude being implemented in such decision. I am very disappointed, very very disappointed to see a person in such calibre who's willfully and blindly honored the prestige award to a fake achiever like Bunrany Hun Sen, who has been doing nothing to deserve the award.

UN is blind. For safe working in Cambodia of UN's staff in Cambodia, UN has to do what that can satisfy Cambodian leaders. Many things that this organization always do for their staff working with safety in Cambodia. Some UN's staff that never criticize the Cambodian Government, they always get no problems in working, but ones that always express or public report on inactive commitment of the government, those are always threatened by Hun Sen. So the best way for security, UN must choose the way of pro-Hun Sen more than its humanity obligation.
