Police has arrested a man on Sunday 13th February in connection with the planting of a bomb near a stage where Prime Minister Hun Sen is due to make a speech and inaugurate a construction site for a Banteay Meanchey-Pailin Highway No. 59.
Mr. Chan Kosal, Deputy Police Commissioner of Banteay Meanchey, said at 6 p.m on Sunday, a man had planted a bomb about 1,000 metres (1 km) from the stage where Mr. Hun Sen is due to make a speech today, Tuesday 15th February, at Nimit district near Poipet town in Banteay Meanchey province. "Now, the story is a true story and the authority have cooperated with CMAC (Cambodian Mine Action Centre) and the court prosecutor. After the prosecutor questioned him and if he is found out to be involved (in the planting of the bomb), it's up to the court to take action", he said.
The identity of the arrested man has not been revealed, however, authority presumed that he is hired by someone to plant the home-made bomb.
But Mr. Or Borin, Deputy Commander of Banteay Meanchey Military Police, dismissed it as a terrorist act. "According to our inspection of the (bomb) location, (if it is an assassination plot) it won't be planted there. We cannot say it is an assassination plot. I went to inspect the location, there is nothing, there is nothing like that had happened", he said.
Mr. Ton Sihatecheak, Deputy Prosecutor of Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court, said he had not received any request to prosecute the man, but he had appointed another deputy prosecutor to take charge of the case. "(The arrested man) has not been sent to us. I have appointed another deputy prosecutor to take charge of the case. From what we have seen, the bomb was planted inside a pond and the man took it out to the of the water but he failed to inform the authority", he said.
Mr. Ton Sihatecheak said the court would have follow the legal procedures such as investigation and questioning first before it can make any decision whether to charge the man or not.

Please educate khmer more about our real history. At Cambodia'school they don't teach about that at all.

I wish I could build a home made bomb and plant it where Hun sen toilet mouth is speaking site to, wish me luck all you Khmer out there.

Thai is not smart and dummy like Cambodian leaders. They should use the tactic that the Vietcong did to remove Pol Pot from power. Then, the Viet can take vast land from Cambodia quietly without causing any problem with Khmer people.
My advice to Siem is to take Ah Hun Sen and CPP out of power by using force. Then you can have our land as the Viet do.

Planting abomb near the construction site to killed Hun sen is not a goal of the killer but Hun sen's.
That was the trick of Hun sen, if he wanted to kill SEn, may be was not planting about 1,000 metres from where he was standing addressed his arrogant speeches.

This is so called a road side bomb like Afganistan and Iraq. But, unfortunately the guy got caught or Ah Kwak planned the bomb himself and made it the story. He tried to show the real killer that he has a good intelligent.
Next time use RPG to shoot or silencer. First join Ah Kwak army to learn how to shoot. Then, plan the assassination.
