(VOV) - Vietnam has always attached great importance to promoting solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia for mutual interests, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world as a whole.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized this at the reception for a delegation of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendly Parliamentarian Group, led by the Group’s chief, Men Xom On, in Hanoi on March 18.
Mr. Trong emphasized that the Vietnamese Party, State and people highly valued support and assistance from the Party, State and people of Cambodia to the past struggle for national independence and unification as well as national construction and defence at present.
Men Xom On, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, expressed admiration at the great achievements recorded by Vietnam in the renewal process and national development.
She also thanked Vietnam for its valuable, sincere and effective assistance to Cambodia’s past struggle for national salvation and revival in the past and during the current national development.
The Cambodian head delegate congratulated CPV for its recent successful Congress and Trong for his new position as CPV General Secretary.

Vietnam has always attached great importance to the annexation of Cambodian territory from Kampuchea-Krom (southern part of nowadays Vietnam) to Phnom-Penh, they are very smart and sneaky in encroaching Cambodian boarder land. First they installed a puppet government to handle day to day operations in Cambodia. Then, they made many unequal treaties from 1980 to date that adjust Cambodian landline and maritime to enlarge their control over the South China Sea. The so call comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia for mutual interests, is in fact for the benefit of Vietnam at the expenses of Cambodia. This is NOT for peace, stability and development in the region and the world as a whole. They instruct the current Cambodia government to remove by all means Sam Rainsy, a Cambodian patriotic from congress and to shut up any voice against Neo-Colonialist Vietnam. In so doing, Vietnam will be able to control Cambodia without opposition.
Today Cambodian town of Chbar-Ampeou, about 5 km from Phnom-Penh was renamed by the Vietnamese as “Saigon Moi”. Sooner or later, this Cambodian will become a new Ho Chi Min city as former Saigon (meaning that gift from the west). In changing the name of Saigon, they think that they can cover up Khmer history in Prey Nokor, Kampuchea Krom current southern part of Vietnam.
Another thing need to be mentioned is that they want to pretend and convince the world that they belong to the Khmer-Mon family that in fact there is so much differences between Vietnamese and Cambodian. From cultural viewpoints they are closely related to their northern neighbor China that Cambodia. They practice Confucius and Mahayana Buddhism that most of Chinese professed.
The current Vietnamese Government try to carry out Ho Chi Min’s vision of forming a Confederation of Indochina under the leadership of Vietnam. So far 5 millions of illegal Vietnamese immigrants already move inside Cambodia and Hun Sen Government cannot say a word about it.
We, as Cambodian Patriots, cannot and will not accept this Status quo. We know it will be a long and hard struggle, but we have the endurance, no matter how long it takes, we and our our next generations will use all means and communications to continue our independence drive until we will get rid Neo-colonialist Vietnam from interfering our Government of Cambodia.
