No one is talking about de-listing Preah Vihear Temple: Thai sore-losers

No one is talking about de-listing of the Temple of Phra Viharn: Thai PM

On 3 March 2011, Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Director-General of Department of Information and Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, responded to media enquiries regarding news reports that the Cambodian Prime Minister’s spokesperson had quoted Mr. Koichiro Matsuura, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Special Envoy, as saying that “Thailand has intention to ask UNESCO to de-list the Temple of Phra Viharn,” as follows:

1. The issue of de-listing of the Temple of Phra Viharn was neither raised by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva nor by Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya during their respective meetings with the UNESCO Special Envoy on 25 February 2011. In fact, when the UNESCO Special Envoy himself mentioned this issue, Prime Minister Abhisit responded that “no one is talking about de-listing”. In addition, after his meeting with the UNESCO Special Envoy, the Prime Minister also stated publicly to the media that Thailand recognized Phra Viharn Temple’s outstanding universal value as an important archaeological site that should be open to visitors from around the world.

2. Thailand’s position towards the inscription of the Temple of Phra Viharn is a matter of public record, namely, as long as the boundary issue remains, other activities regarding the Temple of Phra Viharn should be postponed, including the consideration of the management plan, until the boundary negotiation under the Thai-Cambodian Commission on Demarcation for Land Boundary (JBC) is concluded as to create a conducive environment for a durable solution.

3. Thailand reaffirms its readiness to fully cooperate with Cambodia and the international community in finding a mutually satisfactory solution regarding the Temple of Phra Viharn issue. In this regard, during his meeting with the UNESCO Special Envoy, Prime Minister Abhisit reiterated that Thailand had extended an invitation to Mr. Sok An, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, to visit Thailand to discuss pending issues with the relevant Thai authorities at the earliest opportunity. The UNESCO Special Envoy expressed his strong support for both countries to continue their bilateral dialogue.

Thailand should get the naming right. It is "Preah Vihear" not "Phra Viharn". There's only one Khmer built Preah Vihear temple, the outstanding universal value UN World Heritage Site.

Since the judgment of The Hague ICJ 1962 there should be no more problem of the sovereignty over land around Preah Vihear Temple. Please Mr. Abhisith and all other Thai political leaders revisit the case’s judgment of 15 June 1962.
In this 1962 judgment, it was not the case of the temple alone, but clearly the sovereignty of the land around it has been extensively debated: “In its Judgment, the Court found that the subject of the dispute was sovereignty over the region of the Temple of Preah Vihear.”…
And please read this about the WATERSHED LINE:
“From these facts, the court concluded that THAILAND HAD ACCEPTED THE ANNEX
I MAP...
The Court therefore felt bound to pronounce in favour of the frontier indicated on the Annex I map in the disputed area and it became unnecessary to consider whether the line as mapped did in fact correspond to the true watershed line.
For these reasons, the Court upheld the submissions of Cambodia concerning sovereignty over Preah Vihear.”
The problem is rather more about Thailand doesn't want to abide by the court verdict and trying to make war against Cambodia to retake the Preah Vihear Temple and the land around it back!

what is phra viharn? I don't know this temple. And this statement is just a paper that talks about something else which is irrelevant to the current situation.

There is no dispute territory or dispute land around Preah Vihear, but only robbed land by Thailand.
pls stop talking about dispute land, we don't have dispute land but our land is robbed by Thailand in the daylight. One American high ranking military officer said to me, long ago, that Thailand seeing the future property after Phreah Vihear enlist as the World Heritage Site of Cambodia that is why Thailand seeing it as a promising billion tourist dollars in the future and too thirty making this dispute to threaten Cambodia to shear this interest, try all the ways it have in hand, flip-flop, twist, pretending, ignorant the true, shameless etc. hoping that if Thai loosed the case means that Thai lossed nothing and if the Thai dream of shearing the management plan would become trued or shearing this Cambodian property comes possible Thailand will gain much.

No way Thailand
stop this dream, you can not enter Phrah Vihear any more thru your border facing Preah Vihea.
Cambodia have a 4th international airport plan in this area and the inland gate entering from Sisaket facing Prah Vihear will be closed eternally. Only Khmer Sorin who can speak khmer are allowed to enter this sacred temple.

Better for you to rename their own country name back to the old name Siem, and no one of us car about.
6:51 AM
Preah Vihear Temple only open for Siem, closed for all Thais.
