Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said Monday the massive earthquake in Japan on March 11 will not only damage Japanese economy, but also will affect Japanese assistance overseas.

"The destruction by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan were the worst and caused hugely losses both human lives and properties," he made the remarks during a graduation ceremony for students at the Royal University of Law and Economics.

"The natural disaster will impact both Japanese economy and Japan's internationally obligatory implementation abroad including Cambodia."

The premier said that tomorrow (Tuesday), Masafumi Kuroki, ambassador of Japan will still sign up to provide a grant aid package of 94 million U.S. dollars to Cambodia for flood protection, water distribution system, and demining activities.

He confirmed that so far, there is no report on Cambodian students were killed or injured in the massive earthquake in Japan.

A total of 1,598 people have been killed and 1,720 others are still missing by 8:00 a.m. (2300 GMT) Monday in Japan following Friday's catastrophic earthquake 9.0 magnitudes on the Richter scale and ensuing enormous tsunami, said the National Police Agency.

Why alway some one is so stupid to say "Aid for Hun Sen".
It means after the Hun Sen area, Cambodia and the Khmer people will not get full support from Japanese Government !!!!

Cambodia must work to achieve our goals beyond hand out! That mentality must go...

SenVarman ain't scholarly mention that the earthquake is enormously and solely caused by digging many wells as he was insanely yelling on CTN to warn all the miserably poor Khmers who desperately needed the water from wells, "Ye want wells or want death from the earthquake?"

Hun Sen and his gang flew to Australia to ask for financial aids to Cambodia.

At the meeting, Australia prime minister noticed that hun sen and all his entourage wearing Rolex watch and diamond ring the size of the brick with custom tailor suits while Australia prime minister was wearing a $15.00 watch and $50.00 ring.

"THESE GUYS ARE HIGH CLASS BEGGARS" Australia prime minister thought to himself.

11:53 PM, I love your comment. It is meaningful and humorous at the same time. It speaks volume to the mentality of our Royal Leaders. They seemed proud of their diplomatic mission to obligate other governments to feed Cambodians as opposed to trying to become self sufficient.

Love and Peace,
Damaged Soul.

The day Duch's trial started, two years ago, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that "he was praying every day so that foreign money stop coming funding the Khmer rouge tribunal and that everybody returns home".
So far, it seems that his prayers have been heared.
Good luck to Japan.

i think people who make fun of disaster are so evil, indeed! how ignorant they are, really!

I don't care if Japan won't be able to send financial aid to Cambodia because part of that aid goes to the top rank governemnt officials anyway . You just look at their monthly salary and the money , cars ,villas , land , jewelry and more that they have , you will have an idea what they got those from .

Every time I go to Cambodia, those beggars (customs) at the Pochentong air port:

" can you give me $ 5.00-$10.00 to buy lunch?

But sir, you work at the air port and you don't have money to buy lunch?

Customs: No, I make only $60.00-$75.00/M not enough.

But if you make 60.00-$75.00/m, how could you afford to drive 470 Land cruiser, and have 2-3 wives?
I make $50-60 grand/yr, and I could only afford to drive a Camry and have only one wife?

Customs: That' s why I have to beg you!
