Cambodia: Our troops will not leave

Cambodia would not withdraw its troop from its own territory and was still waiting for Thailand's agreement on the Jakarta-prepared term of reference (TOR), said Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Nam Hong after emerging from the 30-minute talks with the Asean chairman, Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, at the Jakarta Convention Centre on Friday.

Mr Hor Nam Hong said the problem of the border conflicts clearly remained on the willingness of Thailand to agree with the deployment of Indonesian observers’ TOR.

"Cambodia has already exchanged letter of acceptance to Indonesia's proposed TOR on May 2 and we hope Thailand do likewise," said the Cambodian minister.

He thanked Mr Natalegawa on his efforts to address the border conflict and look forward to see such a deployment.

Mr Natalegawa also thanked Cambodia for the formal agreement of the term of reference which Indonesia has proposed at the special foreign ministers' meeting in Jakarta, right after the meeting at the United Nations in New York. The UN General Assembly has tasked Indonesia to help facilitate the border solution of the regional partners of Asean as Jakarta was the current chair this year. Cambodia would take the annual alternate chairmanship next year.

Thailand has lobbied for a bilateral meeting during the 18th Asean summit, however, Cambodia was not interested in either meetings between foreign ministers or prime ministers, diplomatic sources said.

Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen is arriving today. Possibly, he would speak about the border disputes when the summit begins tomorrow (7) due to the alphabetical order of the summit seating, sources said.

Diplomatic sources said Phnom Penh was taking beyond-Asean strategy, however, they wanted to show goodwill about possible option of the trilateral meeting at the sideline of the summit here to save the face of Jakarta, who has been embarrassed due to Thailand's military no-show at last month meeting in Jakarta.

Cambodia, sources said, was looking forward to the 30-31 May hearing at the International Court of Justice in the Hague on the Preah Vihear disputes.

The Asean chairman said before meeting with Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya at 12.30 that he hoped trilateral meeting could be held later today.

Cambodia has agreed with the three proposed locations Ta Sem, Chak Chreng and Pram Makara for the deployment of Indonesian observers on its side, while the Thai cabinet agreed on Wednesday to accept Indonesian observers to Cambodian-Thai border on conditions that there would not be foreign troops on the disputes territory including at Svay Chhrum.

Great choice and great strategitc decision! Congratulation HE Foreign Minister! Cambodia never can withdraw pur troops from our territory.

How come Thai wnat us to withdraw our troops from our territory? Thai must be embarrassed to their neigbour countries and the world. The CIJ verdict has clearly order that any of Thai either troops, soldiers, guards etc. are not allow to station at the Preah Vihear temple and the territory of Cambodia.

Why Thai violate this verdic? Why Thai are heartheaded in taking grants and benefit from Cambodia Preah Vihear temple?

Thai should stop their greedy imagination for taking Cambodia temple and the fuffeit areas souround the temple.

The divion of the Thai society has made Thain and Thailand is going to hell in the 21st curtury, especialy uder the young gang leades of Abhisit and Kasit - who know nothing about the international relation and displomatic cooperation.

Cambodia is a victim from Thai political turmoil. They divert all therir internal issues to Cambodia and the border.

The world know it well. The UN SC, ASEAN and other international bodies and groups are watching how Thai/Thailand is doing on Cambodia? as a Victim and a small country and small weopons etc of compare to Thai resources.

Having said that though Cambodia is small and lack of resources but Cambodia will noy also allow any nation, especially Thai/Thiland to invade Cambodia easily.

We all live on earth consist of the the rule of laws and under the justice so Thai should not act as a wild woft or wild tiger in this region.

Whatever happens just remember this, before 1975 Khmers helped Viets to win the war from the White colonial and in 1979 Viets helped Khmers from being extinction due to ethnic cleansing.

From 1979-1983 Thai helped to kill both Viets and Khmers by dumping us onto the mine-field including robbed and raped us.

During war in Viet, Thai allowed the white to use their country as a base to attack both Viets and Khmers. So, all of our Asian nations need to recognise that Thai is the worst enemy of the South East Asia nations.

This is a time to reflect back on what went wrong and why did most Asian nations had to suffer so much. All because of the Thai being a traitor.

All Asian nations need to acknowledge this and also in making sure they will not get away from what they have done to us from the past, present and the future. Justice must be done! So, we have to make sure that Thai have to pay for this.

Sam Rainsy has asked Hun Sen to step down did not work, SRP MPs have asked Cambodian government to sack Hor Namhong is also never happened. So, the last thing that SRP can help PAD of Thailand is appealed to Cambodian government to withdraw troops and khmer people from dispute land surrounding Preah Vihear temple. Then, both countries will have peace along the border.

PAD of Thailand and SRP's close ally.

7:03 PM,don't forget, Viets helped to create the Khmer rouge. Therefore, Viets participated to the khmer genocide. Viets caused alot of problems in Cambodia. For instance, they used Cambodia territory for doing their war. That caused the american bombing.

Since Hun Sen was a Khmer Rouge commander of the Democratic Kampuchea Pol Pot Khmer Rouge Regime, now a Khmer Rouge leader of the Cambodian Peoples Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime and had many of his political opponents and journalists assassinated, I wonder if he have any plan to assassinate the Thai Prime Minister (Ahbullshit Vejjajiva)?
