Hun Sen blasts Thailand

Cambodia accused Thailand of invading its territory Saturday on the opening day of a summit of Southeast Asian leaders that was supposed to focus on plans to create a regional economic zone.

"Thailand as a big country continues to have the ambition of prolonging the armed conflict in order to violate weaker neighbouring Asean members," Hun Sen told the assembled leaders, according to a transcript provided to reporters.

"The invasion of the Thai troops of Cambodia's territory resulted in a series of clashes and eventually a large-scale war from the 4th to the 7th of February, 2011."

Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva told reporters after the encounter: "We had a frank discussion this morning."

"We need to resolve the problem because we don't want this to be a problem that would affect Asean's agenda on community building," he added.

The border spat was not on the formal agenda of the two-day summit but is overshadowing discussions on Asean's long-term efforts to create a closely integrated regional economic zone by 2015.

Other issues on the table include food and energy security, territorial disputes in the South China Sea, the scourge of human trafficking and East Timor's membership bid.

But even before the presidents and prime ministers of the disparate 10-nation bloc sat down in Jakarta's cavernous convention centre, their discussions had been framed by negative news from troubled member states.

Burma stole the headlines on Friday when Asean officials announced that the military-led country -- which is under Western sanctions for serial human rights abuses -- had asked to chair the group in 2014.

US-based Human Rights Watch said Asean, already struggling for credibility, would become the "laughing stock of intergovernmental forums" if it granted the request.

Asean leaders are meanwhile facing mounting pressure to help end the Thai-Cambodian conflict, which has claimed 18 lives and temporarily displaced 85,000 people in weeks of clashes.

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono spoke of rising food and energy prices, climate change and unrest in the Middle East during his opening remarks.

But without mentioning the Thai-Cambodian row, he also reminded his fellow leaders that Asean could no longer use the bloc's long-held principle of non-interference to shirk the need to resolve conflicts between member states.

"We realise that to ensure a peaceful and stable East Asia region, we must ensure stability and security in our region," said the ex-general who commanded UN military observers in Bosnia.

"If conflict occurs, Asean must be capable of facilitating a forum for diplomacy and open dialogue with the intent of attaining common peace."

Asean's halting efforts to negotiate an end to the clashes are being closely watched as a litmus test of its soaring ambition to create an integrated regional community in just four years' time.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa met his counterparts from Thailand and Cambodia in Jakarta on Friday and said they had agreed to accept Indonesian military observers at the disputed frontier.

But he said the modest observer mission, which would have no power to police a ceasefire, had yet to be dispatched because of stubborn differences over troop locations.

Hun Sen said Phnom Penh would never agree to Bangkok's demands to pull troops out of the Preah Vihear temple, which is Cambodian territory according to a 1962 World Court ruling.

Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya said that bilateral talks should continue and that there was little enthusiasm among Asean leaders for the conflict to be internationalised with direct UN involvement, as Cambodia has sought.

"I think what all the other Asean leaders have been saying this morning is that we should keep the conflict within the Asean family," he said.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have publicly backed Asean's mediation role.

Asean groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

I'm glad Hun Sen tells those thieves and invaders how it is because Thai's weren't native to South East Asia since they migrated from China. They are just Chinese people living on stolen Khmer lands and we can't let these Chinese reject thieves and invaders keep stealing our land and temples. That is why China kicked them out because they were trying to steal the great wall.

If Lee Kwuan Yu was dead, he would have been turning in his grave!

He would say how dare this backward country's leader to hi-jack this 'very important' ASEAN Summit.

And Hun Sen should respond to those 'girly' men (as Arnold would call them) that at least he got the balls to bring up such an important issue to the summit. Those girly men can focus on regional economic integration all they want, but as long as the stupid siams are still acting like a bunch greedy bullies, their dream of a united ASEAN means zero, nada!!!!

Hun Sen was a former Khmer Rouges army. During the Khmer Rouges regime, Hun Sen was shot right into one of his eyes and the fled to Vietnam and then Hun Sen came back with Communist Vietnamese troops to invade Cambodia easily in two weeks (just a piece of the cake) and then capture the city of Phnom Penh. He was also married to his Yuon/Vietnamese woman (prostitute) falsely named as Khmer name Bun Rany. It is very strange to me.

Hun Sen doesn't know
1. how to talk about Cambodian History and the history of Khmer Empire,
2. how Thai ended up living the stolen land that they took or overtook from Khmer/Cambodia Empire
3. how Thai acted so flip-flopped
4. how to convince the ASEAN that was originally from Nanzhao province in Southern China after Mongol Empire armies invaded China
5. how Khmer Empire appeared to be such a great Empire in Southeast Asia.
6. and more...

Sigh* and I am really frustrated with this idiot Hun Sen who is uneducated as he hold PhD bullshit and doesn't know English so well and there are so many problems about Hun Sen as a leader from the jungle and lied about his education or degrees of bullshits.

Hun Sen was a son of peasant family. I did not know what level of his education, but he was not qualified to lead Cambodia. He has had no experiences or knowledge to lead the country of Cambodia, but he has been using the Communist Vietnamese masters and CPP Yuan members from Hanoi as his guides. That was how Cambodia has been misled and slowly developed because of those crooks and thieves. Hun Sen did not know anything about Cambodian/Khmer history and geography. Hun Sen has been cheated by his Communist Vietnamese bastards/masters and CPP Yuan cronies or members (thieves).

Success story of Hun Sen and his family is very disgusting and ugly. Can you imagine that, Khmer people?

Can anyone or Khmer/Cambodian people understand what I am talking about?

Hun Sen needs to step down and so do his CPP comrades. Enough is enough.

...and also watch out for smooth-talking vietcongs! they should not, as an ASEAN member state, dominate and play big brother to Cambodia.

Until then, should ASEAN have arrived as a true bloc with equally-privileged members. There should not be any bully and back-stabber like the siams and the vietcongs, who take every opportunity to exploit and squeeze Cambodia.

There are two types of talk: diplomatic and or street talk. If Hun Sen talks like 8:53am, he would surely lose. If we go back to the past we are all from monkey. If we go back further, we are from bacteria. We the Cambodians have about two thousand year history, but long before that we do not know where we came from. So it is illogical to say in diplomatic meeting that Thai are from China. So focus the year 1962 or somewhere in that neighborhood when talking about temple preah vihea with Thai.

If Cambodia is without Hun Sen and CPP Yuan members, then Cambodia would gain more supports from the U.S., European countries, friendly and powerful democratic countries, UN or International Communities.

I think Mr. Sam Rainsy is one of a good example for the democratic leader of Cambodia and he was recognized by many peoples from the democratic and friendly countries in the world. The UN and NATO even the U.S. will give more supports to Mr. Sam Rainsy who is a non-communist leader.

Hun Sen and CPP Yuon members were illegally installed by Communist Vietnamese masters in Hanoi. Those communist bastards and bitches have made Cambodian people and the people from different countries in the world very frustrated.

Hun Sen and CPP Yuon members must step down and Communist Hanoi masters must interfere with Cambodia affairs by manipulating and influencing Hun Sen.

For Communist Hanoi masters in Vietnam, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. NOT MORE PROPAGANDA. Cambodian or Khmer people know your Communist Vietnamese secret and dirty plans.
Those of Communist Vietnamese Secret and dangerous plans would be reported to the UN, U.S., NATO, and powerful countries and let them know how dangerous and evil Vietnamese Communist masters and people are to Cambodia people and even Southeast Asian people in the region.

Well in reality Thai isn't a real race or nationality to begin with. They are just Chinese people with culture stolen from Khmer and Mon who both were natives to South East Asia before these Fake Thai Race step foot into the Khmer Empire. The reason why these Chinese rejects were able to overthrow and destroy Angkor was due to the fact the Khmer Empire had a traitor who helped these Siamese gain power over the Khmer's. Cambodia needs to educate these Thai's in the court with real history and Asean needs to provide e real history classes to these Thai's before they start robbing and invading their lands also just like what their doing to Cambodia.

Yes, Hun Sen is a very backward idiot and talked proudly of himself.

Hun Sen needs to step down immediately and he doesn't know about how explain to ASEAN members historically in order to convince.

Hun Sen doesn't speak English at all. Most ASEAN members do speak English and even other language.

Since Hun Sen was a Khmer Rouge commander of the Democratic Kampuchea Pol Pot Khmer Rouge Regime, now a Khmer Rouge leader of the Cambodian Peoples Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime and had many of his political opponents and journalists assassinated, I wonder if he have any plan to assassinate the Thai Prime Minister (Ahbullshit Vejjajiva)?
