Opposition Leader Sam Rainsy indicated on 30 April that he won the lawsuit brought up by Hor 5 Hong, the minister of Foreign Affairs. The lawsuit was dismissed by the French “Cour de Cassation” (the equivalent of the Supreme Court) after Sam Rainsy’s appealed his case against Hor 5 Hong’s 2008 lawsuit.
Sam Rainsy said over the phone from France that his French lawyer told him that the French Supreme Court decided that he won the case over Hor 5 Hong, after Sam Rainsy appealed his case to the French Supreme Court. Hor 5 Hong won the case in the first instance court and in the appeal court. He accused Sam Rainsy of defamation after Sam Rainsy accused him of being the former Boeng Trabek jail chief under the Khmer Rouge regime.
Kar Savuth, Hor 5 Hong’s lawyer, said on 30 April that he did not know about this issue yet.
Sam Rainsy was sued by Hor 5 Hong in France after he commented on 17 April 2008 at the Choeung Ek Killing Fields Memorial that Hor 5 Hong was the former chief of Boeng Trabek jail under the KR regime.
The French first instance and appeal courst have both decided that Sam Rainsy lost his case to Hor 5 Hong and they both ordered Sam Rainsy to pay 1 euro (6,000 riels) in compensation to Hor 5 Hong for defamation.
However, at the end of 2010, Sam Rainsy appealed his case to the French Supreme Court. Sam Rainsy said that the Supreme Court had not issue an official confirmation to the case yet.
Regarding this case, on 25 April 2011, the Phnom Penh municipal court sentenced Sam Rainsy in absentia to 2-year of jail time and it ordered him to pay Hor 5 Hong 8 million riels ($2,000) for public defamation and incitation to hatred against a government official because Sam Rainsy accused Hor 5 Hong of being the former Boeng Trabek jail chief under the KR regime.

Sihaknuk used to say Honamhong is a chief of Beung Tra Bek jail cell but lost the case in the Paris Court,there were too many intellectual have previous known Ho Nam Hong is the khmer rouge killer but it turn to JUSTICE and RIGHT or Wrong those who are witness hiding their head on to the sand.

I don't think it is a true story. If the French Supreme Court is not issue an official confirmation of this case, how Sam Rainsy said that he won the case? Sam Rainsy has never mentioned about he's going to appeal to the Supreme Court after he lose in the Appeal Court, but suddently, he announced that he won the case. This breaking news said Sam Rainsy had lodged his appeal to Supreme Court at the end of 2010. I don't think from the end of last year until now, the Supreme Court in France is able to judge this case in very short time like that. Could be another lie that Sam Rainsy tries to con Khmer people.
Rainsy is so reckless. How can you announce this to the public even before you get a confirmation. Even if it is true. And if it happen to be false, you just humiliated your own self.
As a supporter of Mr. Sam Rainsy, I am quite disappointed by this move.

I am very sick of CPP Yuon members and Hun Sen who are the ones who pushed the war with Thailand and who do have enough the international supports because CPP and Hun Sen are communist coming from Communist Hanoi, Vietnam.
If Mr. Sam Rainsy or other Democratic opposition front-runner is the leader of Cambodia, the Country of Cambodian would be better off peaceful without Vietnamese Communist involvement in Cambodia, close Vietnamese Communist relationship and friendship with Cambodia.
Right now, Cambodia is not peaceful with Thailand because of Communist CPP Yuon from Communist Hanoi operating illegally in Cambodia.
The other thing is that Thailand is insecure when Vietnamese CPP officials along with their puppet Hun Sen are playing the games and interfere with Thailand.
For example, Hor Nam Hong is not a good fit for a position as a Foreign Minister to negotiate with Thailand. Hor Nam Hong is Yuon or Vietnamese, and he is not influential in Khmer language and lack of Khmer Empire history. He is so much in favor of his country of Vietnam when he has a good job in Cambodia as a Foreign Minister. Also, Hor Nam Hong is a former Khmer Rouges at Boeung Trabeak Prison Camp because King Sihanouk mentioned before and after Khmer Rouges Regime (1975 - 1979)
The French lower court is the Kangaroo court because it can't find justice for Cambodian victim. The lower court insult Khmer victims because they let the killer, Hor 5 Hong, won the case.
Secondly, If Sam Rainsy is careless by declaring his victory in the supreme court decision (Claimed by stupid and asshole some comments above 1:54PM and 2:08PM), his lawyer must be stupid to let him release the information. But, to me his lawyer know the outcome not like Hor 5 Hong's stupid lawyer didn't know what is going on.
Bravo Mr. Rainsy. Fight the devil and YOun Hanoi puppets, Hun Sen, and his gangsters to the hell.
