Brain Food for the Religious, the Righteous, and the Right-winger

On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

“What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”

He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

The Buddhist Version

"But a Buddhist, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’"

Wow, this must been exceptional for a Buddhist monk to have a donkey, drink wine and have plenty of money to do such a compassionate act. But, does he love the Lord his God with all his heart & soul & mind & strength?

Khmer Israel,

Keep preaching harder. It looks like you are the only one who will go to heaven.

When you are there and get bored, call me and I will go to heaven to bring you down to hell where all the fun continues without stopping.

Your heaven is my hell and what you think of hell is my heaven.

Keep praying for me since I still don't want to accept your Jesus as my personal saviour. You need to pray 100 times a day now for me. Don't give up on me as I am also one of the children of God, whatever his name is.

Refused to follow Jesus

Dear 12:09 PM,

How come you want to deny Jesus as your personal Saviour because of Khmer Israel?

Khmer Israel is just a sinful person like you and me, bur Jesus is our Saviour, He wanted to save you and me. I already accepted Him as my personal Saviour because I have found Him as my living God.

You have learnt something about our great teacher Buddha. Have you heard about Socrates, Plato and Aristotle of the Greek. All of them were philosophers as well as our Buddha. All of them were born many hundreds years before Jesus and we all have read the record of their lives, their works and their teaching, and we believed that it was true.

So how about Jesus who was born around six hundreds years after Buddha, does it has a true record of His life, His works and His teaching as well?

I found that it is very hard for someone to live without Jesus.

What is 2011? Can you personally do your living without using this number? Do you realize that this number belongs to Jesus?

Please do more study about Him, and take Him as your personal Saviour if you like. Don't let anyone take Him away from you. Of course no one can take Him away from you unless you push His hands away from hugging you.
