This is a good cartoon! It is really shows the two supper powers that use Cambodia as a proxcy place to test power to control the region.

Khmer need the leader to see the bigger picture in contact vis-a-vis within the region and the world. And the only thing that could help Cambodia from being use by other countries -- the population must be educated. The three utmost advises that I give to each and everyone of our Khmer brothers and sisters: education, education, education!!!

Khmer leaders have to understand the political stategies at the Maxcro level, in order to impliment the micro level that to be congrouent with macro trategies! Khmer leaders have a commitment to give Khmer people education at the level of Malaysia or Singapore! At the same time have to promote and implement the share wealth and national resources through promoting education and job creation, and Promote enterprenueship!!!

Education is the most important thing for all Khmer citizens, especially the younger generation, if Cambodia is to compete with the rest of the world and to survive as a developed and truly independent nation into the future, but the means to get education are not at all available for everyone. They can be very difficult and not possible for the majority of the poor citizens in the country.

It is easy to say something like, get education, but getting it is a totally different problem in Cambodia. There are quite a few Cambodian kids in America who squander their rich opportunities to obtain education for different reasons.

How can you go to school in Cambodia when you are so poor and your stomach is demanding food and you have no decent place to live in or call home.

Though the responsibility falls totally on the state to provide the infrasctructures and means for the young people to get education, imperfection exists due to one reason or another and some of the reasons can be fixed but ignored by the government and yet they are facts that stay with the Cambodian nation for a long time to come.

Blaming the CPP is not going to solve any problems since there are enough blames going around everyday with nothing much changed.

Everyone can pitch in to help and make education in Cambodia as available as possible and as easier as it can be.

The opposition parties, the King and anyone who cares can do the same to help build free and available-for-all education in Cambodia.

The King has lost his good opportunity to gain confidence in the population by choosing to ignore this very important fact and duty. Monarchy will eventually be a symbol that means nothing in the near future as with time, one may wonder the reason-to-exist of the monarchy in Cambodia.

The opposition is too concentrating on the attacks of the government, and for that reason, has already lost a lot of opportunities as well to help Cambodia and her people as far as education is concerned.

Help build Cambodia with the government, especially in area of education and its affordability without being afraid that the government would take all the credits.

For education you are doing it for Cambodia and not for any political gain and the Cambodian people are not stupid enough not to see the difference.

In the 21st century people look for actions and not words as words can be passed out of the mouth as easily as water flows down the cliff of the mountain.

Why do you wait until you can govern to implement policies to help advance education for young kids and men in Cambodia? If you have a policy of waiting to do things in order to get full credits, you will wait for a long time and in the end will have done nothing, but uttering words.

As time passes by, your loss of opportunity continues to rise while your opponent the CPP capitaling everyday on new developments in Cambodia. You can blame and curse the CPP all you want, but the fact cannot be ignored and it is very clear that development is going on as we speak.

Be part of the development and you will certainly have a chance to do it differently.

A man thinks of his stomach first, then he has strength to think of himself. After that he thinks of his family and last he thinks of his country!

This is a fact known throughout humanity and to ask him to reverse this order is to ask him to do the impossible!

Anet Khmer,

This is 6:02 am,

I see your point in both cases.

The first, I believe to provide education to all Khmers is not impossible, but it is not an easy path, and take time. The govt. has the role to play to let people know as to why education is an important to them. The parents have to get involve and make commitment (let say -- one hour each day that parents have to be with their children to teach them and to make sure that they do their homework.). I am well understand about the poveerty that Khmer people are facing, but if everybody do it in order to achieve the goal down the road -- let say in the next 10 to 20 yrs,we have to have a workable plan and that each and every Khmers are part of the solution than the problems (inclusion--whether you are rich or poor, all have a crucile part to play in the society).

The second point, I know the Maslow theary of the human needs. Definitely that the basic need needs to meet first before people can move to the next level. I know it is not an easy task -- because we are talking about moving about 9 million out of 14 million population to be an active participant, more productive and eventually be able to advance themselves to the next level of the Maslow's scale. But the only failure that we educated one will be an absolute failure is the failure of not willing to try at all. Nothing is easy, I can assure you for that, but would you agreed that we all should try!

BTW, I agreed that everybody can cheap in, we don't have to realize on the govt. to provide education if each and everyone of us that know more can teach the people that know just a little...than, collectively we are all know more than the indivitual of us.

Anet Khmer -- In order to fight poverty and foreign domination, the solution is education! The road to education is a long road! There is no short cut to it. And the piece of paper can never prove that how much they know! We can only measure the result throught what they can produce. Anet Khmer -- what do you think, anythought on this??

4:06 pm,

You made the ligitimet point! Yes, there are not many Koun Khmer working in the US's govt. There are three major reasons I see to this problem: 1)Khmers that came to the US after the 80s, they were mostly come from uneduate family that left over from KR regime -- they are not use to education; 2)Parent come to this country, had a cultural shock, in addition, they just realize they are a life from the killing regime; 3) they have to make sure that their family have to servive in this country - parents are working two jobs just to meet end need (not much time left to encourage their children in doing their school work)! The culture of education had been distroy!!

I would like to ask you - How about the Khmer children came to the US before 1975? What happen to them? They are suppose to be the one that come from the well off family from the Lon Nal regime. They are suppose to be the elitist well educated one -- have their children work with the US govt. or had gone back to Cambodia to help? The one that is visible is the Lon Nal'son that went back to try to get into Khmer politic, but did he winned any sit in the 2008's national election?

So 4:06 pm, don't just blaim that Khmer people are lazy! You just made a sweep statement, which would give you an easy excuse to not help any Khmer at all!

4:06 pm, you have more capability than this! Show us bloggers that you can make better use of your brain than this to help Khmer!

Good education, good culture, good ethics, hardworking etc... are vital for an individual's success and the country's success.

I feel sad when I see Khmer kids do not have the opportunity to get a good education because they can't afford it, or they don't want to study (too lazy), especially the young Khmers living overseas.

9:09 am,

Khmer overseas might be lazy -- but the Khmer kids that come from the elite Khmer in the country event worst than the lazy Khmer kids overseas, they use drug and abuse their parents's corruption money/resources from the Khmer poor...so what do you have to say to that!!
