Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Friday warned the country's main opposition party not to follow the footsteps of Tunisia, Egypt and Libya that the opposition parties have used people's protests to topple the government.
"I come to power by the votes of Cambodian people, so I will step down from the power only if the people vote to dismiss me," he said at a press conference.
"I won't step down by protests. If you want to try by following the footstep of the Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, you can do," he added.
"How many are your supporters? They can come, we welcome, the ruling Cambodian People's Party has its own supporters too, you want to use people to topple us; we will have our people to defend the government as well."
The premier's remark came after Sam Rainsy Party, the country's main opposition party, issued a statement on Thursday, saying that the party's exiled leader Sam Rainsy visited Tunisia on July 21-23 in order to meet local and international activists from various political and social backgrounds who have successfully fought for a regime change in this country through an unprecedented popular uprising that triggered the Arab Spring or Jasmine Revolution seven months ago.
"The ongoing peaceful transition towards freedom and democracy in Tunisia is an inspiration for the whole world, especially countries under dictatorship such as Cambodia that is awaiting a Lotus Revolution with the same historical results," said the statement from the party.
Prime Minister Hun Sen has been in power for 32 years.

We are living in the 21st century, we should be more smarter by now. All we need is by following those countries that are more successful than others in their governance. In Aust, both gov't and their opposition leaders are working together hand in hand to protect their nation and country. All Hun Sen needs to do is to call upon all political leaders and amend the relationship and let them all sign a contract about whatever happen in the parliment stay in the parliment.
If any disagreement then there should be the votes from other senior citizen outside their group so that there wouldn't be any bia to sellect which party is right. By doing so is to avoid all personal conflicts at all costs but more moving toward, what else can be done for our nation.
E.g. try to employ all professional people from across the glob like,the engineers from Singa to build the maga structure of water desities, the world trade centre may be build/set up by South Korea as they are one of the most successful and part of the major players among other nations and they are getting richer and richer, so use their ideas and strategies...

My own opinion is that Cambodia cannot get rid of the CPP without a bloody revolution. If the Khmers living with the CPP think that they are happy with their current living standards, it is up to them to keep the CPP in power. However I'd like to ask all Khmer people not to think just about themselves now but about the motherland and the future of their children and grand-children. It is quite obvious that srok Khmer is only by name. The economy and the governement are controlled by the Viets. Do people honestly think that living hand to mouth and thinking about making ends meet daily is a life for a normal human being? Do you have pride in begging every day? Do you have pride in beign mistreated by your government?... If the answers are yes I wish you good luck and I'd also recommend that you brush up your vietnamese language and start hanging up a picture of uncle Ho in your living room.

As I read and studied and evaluated the comments from the most extreme nationalist(Ah refugees)views in Cambodia today,I'd like to personally express my concerns about strong nationalistic views for the KI sustainer members and opposition leader's supporters during online debates, which could lead some of these KI readers turn to other forms of terrorist act against the Cambodian government.
Moreover, I personally denounce their critically extreme nationalistic views. This group of people have been insensitive, insensible, irresponsible, yet callous of their government but themselves.
It is my sincere hope and belief that draconian measures must be adopted and implemented by the Cambodian government to forestall any future terrorist attacks on the Cambodian government. In other words, some of the KI members must be put on blacklist.

The so called revolution up rising against the government is the old song which opposition has sung for very long times, but it has never happened.

Some body in the up and up Cambodian Government echelon afraid these two existing.
He is thinking that it will take more men and tanks to destroy him and his base but it takes only one aircraft fighter with half load of ammunition to do the job.

The people revolution will be succeeded if we, notably the leaders, are able to gather international media as much as we can to get into Cambodia first before we start any peaceful movement.
This way, any violent suppression by the puppet government will be swiftly disseminated around the world. But, this puppet government, under its master Yieknam’s direction, will be using hidden Yieknam’s agents that look like regular citizens to counter the people revolution.
Furthermore, we must convince the foreign presses that the present government is tightly controlled by the expansionist Yieknam. So, any movement countering the people revolution will be stemming from Yieknam, not from the Khmer people.

good idea by some here. i think cambodia should look for a way to work together without so much bipartisan interest. we talked about reforms a lot. reforms can be any area like social reforms, national reform, gov't reforms, etc, etc... people often tend to think reform is only confined to a certain area, not true! it could be in any are! i think cambodia need to have some form of compromise among ourselves when we deal with each other in cambodia. agree to disagree at a personal level, and yes, keep disagreement confined to a parliament, not outside of parliament, etc, really! it is time for us to look for way and learn from australia, america, etc in order to reform cambodia in all fields, you know! it should not be about personal issue, it should be about cambodia, finding a common solution to fix what is needed to be fix in cambodia. unless we focus on working to find a sound solution for cambodia, we could be blinded and act ignorantly. it is serious time for cambodia to wake up and fix our country as in reforms, etc, you know! i rather do that than talking about revolution or whatever, that is so boring to me. plus, nobody in their right mind want or ready for that radical idea. in the last few decades cambodia had already seen and experienced enough destructive revolution, i don't think it is wise for cambodia to do that again any time soon like some extremist activists suggested. that is so unpopular, given cambodia don't even know how to prepare for that. there are more to that than just making changes. think about the aftermath of it, the destruction, the loss of lives, the damaged, the psychological scars, the displaments, the lack of foods, the lack of medicine, the negative attention it brings the world to cambodia, etc, etc... whoever came up with that radical idea now is no different from that crazy pol pot guy, etc... i think it is a sign those individuals are ignorant to even brought it up and mention it, etc, you know! that's not cambodia need, another suffereing and destruction, etc! unless those people do sacraficing their own lives at the front, then don't even go there, really! running away and hide overseas is not popular, in fact people think you are a coward instead! so, don't even go there, ok!
