it makes sense to demilitarized the temple and vicinity to prevent further damage and loss of lives, etc to the world heritage site! it is the same as withdrawing troops from the vicinity and temple! i think people often misunderstood the term demilitarized to mean losing of sovereignty, etc... it's not like that, it just means no armed conflict is allowed at the temple site and its vicinity. it has nothing to do with cambodia or thailand losing of territories, lands, etc... the 1907 map will be used for redemarcating the international boundary that cambodia had been neglected for so long already! this is why siem steal robbing khmer land because of neglect and isolation, ok! so stop isolating any part of cambodia for too long already, ok! cambodia must be developed, must be developed forever from now on!
What the fuck is "demilitarised"???
Above commenter (11:34 PM) is correct about the demilitarization of the surrounding areas of the Preah Vihear Temple.
It is intended to prevent damages to the world heritage while the world court continues to work on the request of Cambodia that it works on the interpretation of its 1962 verdict with respect to the surrounding area.
Let us not put politics in this case. Any Khmer including Hun Sen, Pol Pot, Lon Nol, Sihanouk and all of us whether we are called or considered by others to be Khmer Vietminh, Khmer Vietcong, Khmer Rouge, Khmer Issarak, Khmer Republic, Khmer for the monarchy independent Khmer or a Khmer in body having Vietnamese brain, you name it, always wants the surrounding areas of the Preah Vihear Temple to belong to Cambodia and that is the fact without any doubt.
So let us patiently wait and see. There is no loss or no gain here. The final verdict is not here yet. Give the world court some time to work on a complex historical matter.
To all political parties and their supporters, please stop being too hungry and too thirsty to suck on a plant that has no juice yet in order to capitalize on the opportunities since there is none, whatsoever.
