Phnom Penh - The SRP moved its main headquarter on Monday from its previous location on Sothearos Street, Tonle Bassac commune, Chamcar Mon district, to its new location in Chan Angre commune, Meanchey district, along National Road No. 2.
On Monday, SRP MP Ho Vann, who directed the move, said that the reason the SRP selected 11 July for its move because it is a victory day for the SRP as prescribed by fortune tellers.
Ho Vann said that the SRP did not organize anything major for this move, only some offerings for the guardians of the land. In two weeks, the SRP will organize a major event with the participation of about 1,000 party members.
Ho Vann said: “We are proud, we are hopeful and we have stability because we have our own headquarter.” He added that the old headquarter belongs to Kom Korm, the party vice-president who rented it to the party at a modest cost.”
According to Ho Vann, the new headquarter measures 15 by 20 meters and the SRP spent $200,000 to build the 3-story building.
Kong Korm, the land owner of the old party headquarter, said that the move will not pose any problem to the party and the party leadership discussed about it long ago because the party wants to own its headquarter.
He indicated that: “We want to own our headquarter to show the party victory from the bottom to the top.” He added that, after the move to the new location, he will use the old location for his family business.

Oh my God!it took more than 10 years for the biggest opposition of Cambodia to have its own headquarter. So, how long it takes for SRP to build one bridge or one school for Cambodia?

SRP would have been able to build 50m by 100m ten years ago if Sam Rainsy agreed to take the offer from Hun Sen an est. of $3.8 million in hand grenade compensation for HIMself NOT victims and families.
TOO bad he didn't accept the offer.

Who knows! She could be. If Hun Sen reiterated last time that Sam Rainsy wanted a leader change and Hun Sen replied that he wanted the opposition changes too. This is the time for Mu Sochua to make a move. I think all the Cambodian people will support her anyway. Plus she stood her ground when Hun Sen threaten her and wanted to arrest her. Instead Mr. Sam Rainsy ran away. If Mr. Sam Rainsy stands his ground he would got a lot of support and people will stand on his side if Hun Sen arrests him. I think Mrs. Mu Sochua is fitting the candidate position to run for first female Prime Minsiter.

i think having opposition party is a necarily part of real democracy in cambodia. of course, they are like a check and balance in gov't until cambodia have law on check and balance of gov't... in america, as you and i know, the check and balance system of gov't is already with the legislative branch, the judicial brance and the executive branch of gov't, etc... since cambodia is new at this, it is ok to have opposition as sort of like a check and balance interim until we implement the rule of law to have the executive branch, the judicial branch and the legislative branch to check and balance on each other. they all need some sort of check and balance in gov't system, really! nobody is perfect in that sense, really!

Who is in charge now? Who has money? Sam Rainsy is not in charge the country!

i think in cambodia, in order to facilitate and adjust to the difference, political party must be able to form a coalition or as they say marrying into each other sso they all can work together like a big family for the sake of national reconciliation, national development, national reforms, etc, etc, you know! put humiliation aside, that's not set in stone, it's the live and the sake of cambodian national interest that overwhelms anything else personal, really! think smartly about it, really!
