TED - Josette Sheeran: Ending hunger now

By Khmer Democrat, Phnom Penh
Where is Our Humanity? Series

ATTENTION PRIME MINISTER! Here's a film for you!!

Josette Sheeran, the head of the UN's World Food Program, talks about why, in a world with enough food for everyone, people still go hungry, still die of starvation, still use food as a weapon of war. Her vision: "Food is one issue that cannot be solved person by person. We have to stand together."

Why you should listen to her:

Josette Sheeran, executive director of the United Nations World Food Programme, based in Rome, oversees the largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger around the globe. Every year, her program feeds more than 90 million people, including victims of war and natural disasters, families affected by HIV/AIDS, and schoolchildren in poor communities.

Sheeran believes that hunger and poverty must and can be solved through both immediate actions and long-term policies. At the Millennium Development Goal Summit last fall, she outlined 10 ways the world can end hunger. They include providing school meals, connecting small farmers to markets, empowering women and building the resiliency of vulnerable communities.

Sheeran has a long history of helping others. Prior to joining the UN in 2007, Sheeran was the Under Secretary for Economic, Energy and Agricultural Affairs at the US Department of State, where she frequently focused on economic diplomacy to help emerging nations move toward self-sufficiency and prosperity. She put together several initiatives to bring US aid to the Middle East. She also served as Deputy US Trade Representative, helping African nations develop their trade capacity.

She says: "I think we can, in our lifetime, win the battle against hunger because we now have the science, technology, know-how, and the logistics to be able to meet hunger where it comes. Those pictures of children with swollen bellies will be a thing of history."

"The era of cheap food is over. The transition to a new equilibrium is proving costlier, more prolonged and much more painful than anyone had expected. 'We are the canary in the mine,' says Josette Sheeran, the head of the UN's World Food Programme."

In Prophetic View:

Food Scarcity On Earth

When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” (Revelation 6:5,6)
==================================
This black horse Revelation is an End time revelation of what is to take place before the coming of Messiah Yeshua. The scale represent the economic system local & world wide. By all probability the black horse started its ride in the year 2008. Released by the 3rd seal from the scroll in the hand of Messiah, Yeshua. Black horse represent famine.

" A quart of wheat for a denarius" means it will take a day of wages to pay for a quart of that wheat. Whatever the day's wage is. If I make $100 a day, that is what it will take to pay for a quart of wheat or 3 quarts of barley.

The oil & the wine speaks of the rich who are well to do during this time. And they are probably selling to the poor with price gouging.

I heard the statistic if all the rich people on earth would only give 4 percent of their wealth to help the poor, then we would not have hunger problem. But it won't happen. They want people to die off to depopulate the earth so they could live as kings & queens.

People, the world has been bombarded with natural disasters that has never been seen in the past and only is in the increase.
This black horse came running through America this year again destroying crop lands and level city out of it's existence in the form of tornadoes, floods, heatwaves & strong winds.

The world population are increasing
every years,food productions can not
produce enough foods to consume for
their needs.

People are destroying trees,all
kinds of animals on land,in the
sea;they are polluting the air and
water,so the weather is changing.
Some places on earth are arid or
dried that they can't cultivate the
foods.

Because of the world populations
are multiplying and destroying
natures,the scarce foods increase
the cost.
