At an independently organized TED event (TEDx) held at USC in April 2011, USC Shoah Foundation Institute Executive Director Stephen D. Smith discussed the importance of Holocaust remembrance and how the educational use of survivors’ testimonies could inspire a “revolution in conscience” that could change the course of history.
“Just imagine if every single person in Europe [had] felt the pain of their neighbor and had listened one voice at a time, and had acted one voice at a time. The Holocaust would simply have been impossible.”

This one is right on target. To start a revolution in Cambodia, it does not necessary just to walk on the street an protest against the unjust govt, but it can also start with our own's conscience of appossing the way the govt. run the country. According to Douglass C North el la,Cambodia still in a "natural state" -- which mean "blending political and economic relationships..limited economic entry to the economics system in order to generate the "economic rents" in order to creat credible commitments among elites to support the ruling regime to provide order (such land concession to these rich elitist of 99 yrs). This exactly, as one can see between the Hun Sen's family and his clant of CPP ruling party. Mont Rithy, Sok Kong, Sok An, etc... support the monetary to the CPP and in return the party povide protection for these business blood suckers from Khmer people! Cambodian people must stand up in order to fight against the Sen's regime in order for Cambodia to become prosper and benefite to all Khmer people. Please, Khmer people commit to your own conscience that what Mr. Sen's is doing right now is oppressive to Khmer people and eventually will destroy of Khmer people. Stand up for your rights and freedom to be prosper on your own land!!

in this day and age, war or the so-called revolution is not necessary to make or demand changes or reforms in cambodia, you know! there are other non-violent ways to engage in reforms. don't be so narrow-minded by thinking that only revolution or violence will force changes. in this day and age, rule of law will do just fine, you know! yes, by all means, strengthen and encourage the use of the rule of law, ok!
revolution sounds so outdated as if we the world is back in the stone age or dark age era, etc... well, if all of the world is back to stone age, then perhaps it is ok for cambodia to resort to revolution or upheaval or whatever it takes to make changes or reforms, i think! if that's not the case, then please stop suggesting revolution on the part of cambodia, really! thank you for your interest in khmer history.
