So Akano, the son of former police commissioner So Phorn who is currently the powerful under secretary of state of the ministry of Interior, was released by kidnappers. The release does not mean the criminals were cornered by the police ability and they decided to let go of their hostage, but it was because the family of the victim gave them ransom money and it faithfully listened to their orders.

In the past, the Arasbach was a famous kidnapping gang and they had the ability to give a headache to the cops. But the Arasbach gang, just like other kidnapping gangs, were not that famous because they only kidnap 2nd tier people or rich men, they never dare touch the top tier people who are either children or relatives of high-ranking officials, and the Arasbach never killed their hostages either. But currently, a new “Cheung Khlang” (thug) group of kidnappers dare kidnap the son of a top Cambodian cop.

Report indicated that So Akano returned from France two years ago. He was kidnapped by a gang of four men and pushed into a Lexus 300 vehicle when he was traveling by car and was approaching his home located near Chroy Changvar commune. The kidnapping took place on 08 October and the kidnappers demanded a ransom of $1 million. Counting from the date of the kidnapping and the date of his release, the victim was taken hostage for more than 15 days.

During the kidnapping, the cops pursued the kidnappers, but because the criminals’ vehicle was too fast and they were armed, they were able to escape safely near building bloc 12. This is a regretful incident because, if the kidnappers were to drive a slow vehicle and they were bare-handed, then the cops could easily arrest and they would display them for all to see.

It was reported that the cops accused the family of the victim of being silent during the entire ordeal and it did not cooperate with the cops to provide any clue whatsoever. In fact, the cops are the butt of the joke because they saw the kidnappers, pursued them, but were not able to arrest them, so why do they want more clues for?

Observers in this case said that the 4 kidnappers are not that brave, they only used a Lexus 300 vehicle in order to evade the cops. However, more importantly is the fact that Cambodian cops are really dim. These observers indicated that Hun Xen’s cops only have the ability to use their guns to whip Buddhist monks and bare-handed people only, but when it comes to armed criminals – even though they numbered 4 only – these cops are scared shxtless, even So Phorn himself was not even able to say anything at all. In this case, the kidnappers are really brave. Therefore, Hun Xen should invite these kidnappers to become the top cops instead. Why? Because in Cambodia, there’s no need for the public to be concerned, even if we have cops, it’s the same as if we don’t.
