The national co-investigating judge in the United Nations-backed Cambodian genocide tribunal today affirmed that he will continue to fulfil his mandate independently and in compliance with the principles stipulated in the law, despite the resignation of his international colleague.

Judge Siegfried Blunk, the international co-investigating judge at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), submitted his resignation to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as of 8 October, citing repeated statements by Government officials regarding what are known as cases 003 and 004.

Case 003 reportedly involves two former senior members of the Khmer Rouge military suspected of being responsible for the deaths of thousands of people, while case 004 is believed to involve three other senior members.

“His resignation was very surprising to me,” said You Bunleng, the national co-investigating judge, in a statement.

“In fact, the work relationship between the international co-investigating judge and myself as national co-investigating judge has so far developed in a smooth and responsible manner based on legal principles and the ECCC internal rules, although there have been some allegations through media speculations made by some outsiders of the Court.”

He said judicial investigations with regard to cases 003 and 004 have been conducted by the office of the co-investigation judges “independently without any obstacle.”

“Although speculations have been made in various media reports with regard to the procedural measures and decisions of the co-investigating judges, the national co-investigating judge still affirms that he will continue to fulfil the works of the office of the co-investigating judges independently and in compliance with the principles stipulated in the law and the ECCC internal rules, and he is resolved to resist any attempt to interfere into his works from any source,” Judge Bunleng said in his statement.

Under an agreement signed by the UN and the Government, the ECCC was set up as an independent court using a mixture of Cambodian staff and judges and foreign personnel. It is designated to try those deemed most responsible for mass killings and other crimes committed under the Khmer Rouge three decades ago.

After his appointment as a co-investigating judge last year, Judge Blunk proceeded with investigations in cases 003 and 004 with the expectation that a previous statement reportedly made by the Cambodian Prime Minister to the Secretary-General that these cases “will not be allowed” did not reflect Government policy, according to a news release issued by the tribunal.

To All Khmer,

Regarding to this ECCC , I have posted so many time on this KI-Media that:

This ECCC will face a lot of obstacles from CPP and Hun Sen and will end up with majority disappointment of Cambodian because this is Hanoi-US ( behind UN ).

Khiev Samphan.

Khiev Samphan said to a group of Khmer ( I was among them ) saying that he ( Khiev Samphan ) want this ECCC to take place at Hague rather then taking place in Cambodia.

Siegfried Blunk stepped down by proving clear reason that there has been a political interferences from CPP and Hun Sen so his couterpart on Khmer side like You Bun Leng and Mrs Chea Leang and many more must resign along side long a go as Theary Seng said.

Even Siegfried Blun stepped down saying that there has been a political interferences from CPP and Hun Sen but You Bun Leng , Chea Leang and CPP still there to block the ECCC process.

My question is why Hun Sen and CPP so afraid of those foure aging KR leaders speaking out in the openly and fully public hearing of case 002.

Because this is Hanoi ECCC.
and main and real killer of Cambodian between 1975-1979 are still at large that is CPP high ranking official like former Khmer Viet Minh Heng Samrin, Chea Sim and former Khmer Rouge like Hun Sen himself.

Hun Sen, why are you afraid of your Pol Pot commander? They are now old and fragile, why do you waste $30 millions a year on protecting your skin?

Hun Sen you will die soon, dont be afraid..

You Bubleng and Chea Leang must step down as well. After all they are CPP spies working in the court to sabotage the system so that high profile senior Khmer Rouges will not be brought to trial as hun sen has planned it all along. The pair must step down!!!

The world should stop wondering why this KRT always has problems.

( above is a comment of our brother or sister on this KI-Media blog ).

Heng Samrin , Chea Sim , So Phim , Kea Meas are former Khmer Viet Minh before they become Khmer Rouge between 1975-1979.

Khmer Viet Minh were brainwashed and created by the Noth Viet Nam in the 1950s during fighting again French colony till Geneva Paris Peace in 1954 the leader of this movement known as Achar Mean or also know as Son Ngoc Minh left Cambodia after Geneva Paris Peace Agreemnet in 1954 to Hanoi and lived there till 1972 and left Hanoi in 1972 to China for medical treatment ( hight blood pressure and stroke ).

Between 1975-1979 those Khmer Viet Minh who working along side by Pol Pot were:

1. Heng Samrin.

2. Chea Sim .

3. So Phim.

4. Keo Meas.

Note: Like Heng Samrin he used to lived in Hanoi for so many years.

Keo Meas was a boss of So Phim .

So Phim was a boss of Heng Samrin and Chea Sim .

Cheas and Heng Samrin were former military of Hun Sen in Eastern Zone between 1975-1979.

The real Khmer killers have been trying to stop the KRT from showing their face to the world.

Khmer Vietminh were brainwashed and created by then North Vietnam in the 1950's.

During the Pol Pot era, those Khmer Vietminh worked along side with Khmer Rouge Pol Pot.

Those Khmer Vietminh committed most of the Killings during Pol Pot's reign.

The world should stop wondering why this KRT always has problems.

Because the real killers, the Khmer Vietminh who currently hold the power, worried that the KRT will find out about their criminal acts.

So, who is the creator of Khmer's suffering? Viet Sen.

Here is a piece of analysis by Ben Bonna of RFI:
http://www.khmer.rfi.fr/

As far as the Khmer Rouge tribunal is concerned, he seems never get what the problem is. We don't talk about the procedure that need to be done in the court, but we talk about the repeated statements made by government officials deem teleconferencing the court action and countless of problem involved the Cambodia side in the court like corruption allegation. He might still remember many statement of PM Hun Sen, FM Hor Numhong.... and one of the main person in charge in the court Mr. Sean Visot is still on leave without proper reason.

I wish to see the Cambodian government show some form of responsibility in term of creating a convenient environment the Khmer
Rouge tribunal to do its work properly and allow it to be inspired by the local court of justice, not the other way around. I hope the government realize that the value of human life of others is the same as the life of their own family members.

The UN must be assertive to deal with Vietnam and its puppet government (Hun Cent).

Does the UN know that these two perpetrators (Vietnam and Cambodia) did not comply with the 1991 Paris peace accord?

The UN must build its credibility to gain respect from the world by using Cambodia as a stepping stone to accomplish it.

The UN has to:

- Strictly enforce the 1991 Paris peace agreement.
- Move the KRT outside of Cambodia.

Just remember that this incompetent, corrupt, and puppet government has been begging monies from the developed countries every year. So the UN should have good leverage to confront with it.
The UN should look at the Cambodian natural resource. Is it right for this stupid government to keep asking for money every year?

Judging Khmer rouge without judging yuons is just a joke because youns are mastermind of Khmer rouge and the killing field. Yuons are the real murderers. Letting yuons get of the crimes committed is another crime against humanity and A DENY of justice for the victims of yuon atrocity and hatred. Internal community must STOP TO COMMITMENT with yuons by deny yuons crimes and atrocities against Khmer and other weak and innocent people in SEA
