CPC senior official meets Cambodian People's Party officials
BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met with a delegation of officials from the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) on Wednesday.
Zhou Yongkang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said China and Cambodia have become good neighbors, friends, brothers and partners since the establishment of ties 53 years ago.
The CPC will work with the CPP to strengthen relations and strategic communication, promote exchanges between officials and promote bilateral cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure construction and mining resources in order to boost the China-Cambodia comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, Zhou said.
Second Deputy President of the Cambodian Senate Say Chhum, who is also chief of the delegation, said Cambodia values and appreciates the support given by the CPC and the Chinese government in promoting Cambodia's development.
He said China's reform and opening-up has benefited the Chinese people and contributed to global peace and stability, as well as created opportunities for Cambodia.
Zhou also mentioned his visit to Cambodia in August, stating that the two countries signed several cooperative agreements during the visit.
"I am glad to see that the two countries are implementing the agreements, as they will benefit the people of both nations," Zhou said.
