Relief agencies in Cambodia say they are working non-stop to distribute aid to flood victims.

This follows criticism that aid agencies have been too slow to respond to the crisis, which has left 240,000 people without shelter.

Thailand's battle to save its capital from a flood surge has dominated regional, headlines but Cambodia has also been struggling to cope with the worst flooding since 2000.

Seventeen of 23 provinces remain under water.

The Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) has been working with the Cambodian Government and international donors to distribute relief.

Red Cross spokesman Dr Uy Sam Ath said: "One driver just keeps driving from the CRC warehouse to the branch; they load up and get back and leave the truck empty.

"It's non-stop work."

The country has been dealt a double blow, with extended heavy monsoon rains coming at the same time as the annual flooding of the Mekong River.

It has forced water back into Cambodia's great inland lake, Tonle Sap.
