China and Cambodia on Monday vowed to further promote their ties in a meeting between top political advisor Jia Qinglin and Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Nam hong.
"China attaches high importance to its comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation with Cambodia, and will continue to deepen bilateral substantial cooperation so as to benefit both sides," said Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
He spoke highly of the development of bilateral relations, citing frequent high-level visits, strengthened mutual political trust and fruitful substantial cooperation as some of the achievements made in the area.
Jia said China appreciates Cambodia's firm adherence to the one-China policy and steady support for China on issues involving Tibet, Xinjiang and other major issues.
"Cambodia is a good friend indeed, a friend that China trusts and relies on," Jia said.
Hor Nam hong also praised the development of Cambodia-China relations in recent years. He thanked China for its assistance in Cambodia's social and economic development.
Hor Nam hong vowed to work with China to strengthen friendly exchanges and deepen bilateral cooperation so as to bring their comprehensive strategic partnership to a new high.
Jia also spoke positively of the strategic partnership between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as well as the important role ASEAN has played in promoting east Asian cooperation.
Jia said China is ready to join hands with all ASEAN countries, including Cambodia, to continue to contribute to the region's peace, stability and prosperity.
Hor Nam hong said Cambodia will help promote ASEAN-China ties and east Asian cooperation.
Hor Nam hong was invited by Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi to visit China from Feb. 5 to 7.

This article really cements my comment earlier about Sam Rainsy's pledging-buying China's support. It is very silly of Mr. Sam Rainsy to make such comments on Saturday and during the Chinese New Year.

I must admit that Sam Rainsy's interview with Radio France International on Saturday 4 Feb 2012 is of exceptional top statemanship. The manoeuvrings in politics is quite intrigued. Khmer politicians should learn from this. However, the problem is Mr. Sam Rainsy only says these sorts of things when he is in political dead end. This time he was not afforded an opportunity to apologize to Samdech Hun Sen like the last time. Out of desperation he has to say it. But is it enough for China to support SRP? Should China forgo Sihanouk and Samdech Hun Sen in favour of the opposition party? Stay tune, time will tell. All cards for China to play now....
After knocking on the doors of USA and the Wests for years, Sam Rainsy runs out of patient. Sam Rainsy came to a political stalemate. Now he is trying to "buy" China's support as a last resort. China would not budge for SRP. Let think again. A tiny nation such as Cambodia, what can Cambodia do for China in term of “protection”? All I could think of protection in this scenario is like SRP’s issuing statements in the case of the CPP's illegal land eviction? This is Sam Rainsy's weird idea of protecting China's interest and saving Srok Khmer. Think again SRP supporters! Cambodia does not have economic and/or political weight - NIL, period! All China wanted is Cambodia's land as bad as the Viet. The fighting in 1979 between China and Viet was to protect China's interest.
Nowadays, in Phnom Penh city as you can see big businesses are operating by the Chinese already. The present best climate for China interest in Cambodia is through Samdech Hun Sen courtesy of the CPP. Therefore, the best comment Sam Rainsy could make is to shut up on this regard but he should try to unite all Khmer nationalist/democratic groups instead of claiming SRP is the only true nationalist making silly comments out of desperation which could be detrimental to Khmer’s long survival.
China would not believe Sam Rainsy any way. A few years back, Sam Rainsy said China had strong complicated connection with Khmer rouge. Sam Rainsy wanted to know how much involvement were Sihanouk and China during 1975 - 1979. Again Samdech Hun Sen is doing a better job in concealing this fact by undermining the effectiveness of the ECCC, the Khmer Rouge tribunal.
We know China keeps Sihanouk and the monarchy as their Khmer pawns. Gradually, Samdech Hun Sen now is within China's sight also, as China's ongoing and potential interest for years to come. That's why we've started to see slight "cracks" between Hun Sen and Vietman.
Note also that Vietnam is playing a double-edge-sword politics with the USA. USA is coming back to Asia and Asia Pacific regions. This might be good and/or bad for Cambodia's land depend on Viet's behaviour.
Reminding you that Mr. Sam Sary, a cunning politician like Mr. Sam Rainsy, Sam Rainsy's father was allegedly killed by Sihanouk. Sihanouk is China's "special" long time friend. Through good times and bad times, Sihanouk always says "Yes, China!". You cannot buy support in a few short statements as Sam Rainsy was making through radio interview. And now Sam Rainsy "fingers" at the USA and the Wests over the dispute islands in the South China Sea. Indeed, it is a very dangerous move by this opposition party leader in Cambodia for Srok Khmer.
Rainsy អើយ Rainsy,.....just stay in France if you truely care about Cambodia!

You see, real Khmer in Sydney we only disagree on policy and principles, we don't behave like you. If we behave like you, what difference does it make? Mr. Sam Rainsy does not behave like that, he is a gentleman, not reflecting his quality at all, but I am surprise his top 20 percentage behave so violently so hungry for power!
12:47 pm, one's title is not that important to me but the fact is Samdech Hun Sen was enshrined by the Monarch as Samdech. And the Monarch is enshrined and protected by the Khmer constitution. You can not just use parts of the constitution to serve SRP's advantage and ignore the rest.
12:47 pm, during major political changes death are unavoidable. See in the cases of Egypt, Libya, China, USA, France etc. Sam Rainsy would do the same to consolidate his power if he has the slightest chance of getting power.

It might not be done by him, maybe by the top 20 percent of his supporters. As you can see his party claiming to be democratic but truly is not democratic and transparent at all. The real power is concentrated in the top 20 per cent of his supporters. They are the only true patriotic, so they claimed. The rest of Khmer are their enemies!
The top 20 percent of SRP supporters are waiting to be government officials. These people are in Europe, USA, Australia, etc.... Waiting to be government ministers and engaging in corruption big time just like the FUNCIPEC when they got power and Sam Rainsy is remnant of the FUNCIPEC party.

He only criticizes Mr. Sam Rainsy's foreign policy: he really divides Khmer a bit further and also, he divides Cambodia from USA and the Wests as well.

This Yuon (Fake Khmer) USA snooped around in the U.S. Immigration Offices and Administration and rewrite documents of innocent Khmer people in the U.S. and spread the words in America and confused Americans and people including Khmer people and myself.
Yuon workers and professionals in the U.S.are very very very bad. I know what is going on about Yuon.
Yuon folks are very good to steal, copy, lie everything. They are all over the places. My Korean and American friends know about it and shared with me about what they have done to hurt Khmer people because of Viet/Yuon bad reputations to steal land, illegally do businesses with people to financially gain and build power.
Americans should disqualify Yuon/Viet Refugees and residents in the U.S. who want to run Congress, Senate, City Mayors, and so on.
Yuon folks and professionals are very dangerous and poisonous to Khmer people and their enemies. They are very destructive if they are so smart to kill Khmer people and their enemies (other races).
