Civil Society: Bavet governor was arrested at 5PM on Friday

Chhouk Bandit, the governor of Bavet city who is suspected by the authority of shooting and injuring 3 factory workers, was arrested by the Bavet authority at around 5PM on Friday 02 March 2012.
Am Sam Ath, a high-ranking investigator for the LIcadho human rights organization, and Moeun Tola, director of the labor rights for the Community Legal Education Center (CLEC), told VOD that Chhouk Bandit was arrested by the authority at around 5PM on Friday. He was arrested in Bavet city, Svay Rieng province and he is currently being detained at the provincial police station.
Nevertheless, VOD could not obtain comments from the Svay Rieng provincial authority regarding this arrest yet.
On 20 February, hundreds of workers at the Kao Way shoe factory in Bavet, Svay Rieng province, demanded that the factory owner abides by the labor rules. Witnesses reported that the culprit came out of a car, pulled a gun and shot the protesting workers causing 3 injured. After several of investigations, on Thursday, Sar Kheng, the minister of Interior, revealed that the suspect in the shooting is Chhouk Bandit, the governor of Bavet, and this led to today’s arrest.

Somebody has to shoot this guy Chhouk Bandit three times: 1 in the penis, 1 in the ass and 1 in the head.
the workers protested because they want a livable wage because cost of living has increased, etc. the ignorant governor used jungle law to shoot at the protesters, maybe thinking he was above the law or something. he should be brought to justice and be educated and compensate the victims that you can't go around shooting at people like this. they have the rights to protest for a fair wage so they can live and support their family, etc, ok! people should demand justice! this governor should know better or he shouldn't be the governor is he's that stupid. where is the rule of law in all of this? i don't care who he is, he violated the law by shooting at people, and he's the governor? he should be stripped of his tenure as governor. i say replace him with a real, educated and qualified individual(s)!
