Interview with Dr. Sok Touch regarding the recent violence in Cambodia

Dr. Sok Touch (RFA)

By Tang Sarada
Radio Free Asia

In the past 3 months, the situation in Cambodia is turning into intense violence between the cops or the local authorities and the population regarding land disputes and protests led by workers on their salary demand.

Some analysts believe that the social atmosphere is “fragile” and could lead to social unrest. However, others believe that the situation in Cambodia could not reach to that boiling point but they recognize that the legal system is not civilized at all.

Please listen to Tang Sarada’s interview of Dr. Sok Touch regarding the upheavals in Cambodia during the past few months.

11:19pm sounded so evil and jealous of some sort. going around and call people ah, mee, etc is a reflection on your ignorance and jealous and evil tendency, etc. can't you speak or write without calling people ah, mee, and other derogatory terms? no wonder people avoid you altogether because people like you are not good to deal with at a personal level! so, stop going around calling people ah, mee, etc as if they are your slave or your inferiority or whatever, ok! be civilized, and educated and have some ethics or morality and professionalism in you, ok! you can talk without having to use the ah, mee derogatory terms in khmer, ok! just call them by their first name is good enough. if you keep it up, nobody want to be like you, really!

why some people have so much hate with everybody they don't even know, even if they know, they shouldn't use the demeaning terms like "ah", "mee", etc when addressing the person. maybe that why we have so much hate, discrimination, prejudice, bias, etc in cambodia because of people like that, uncivilized. i can understand if they were very close friends, but otherwise, it is just a form of abuse when you call people ah and mee, etc, you know. get educated already. be respectful!

becareful going around calling people ah and mee, etc, because in a capitalistic society which cambodia is becoming slowly but surely, you will lose customers. yes, in capitalistic society your customers are kings and queens and princes and princesses, not you, ok! unless you want to go bankrupted, then go around call people anything you want before they sue you for slandering and libeling, etc. be respectful and you'll be surprised people will return your favor in return, ok!
