Phnom Penh – In the morning of 29 February, about 200 PPIU (Phnom Penh International University) students and administrators decided to kowtow and pray to a large picture of Hun Xen and Bun Rany, his Chumteav, that was set up in a large meeting room located on the 6th floor of the PPIU. The students and administrators were praying for the pair of inert picture to help Mrs. Tep Kolap and her husband to be released from jail temporarily. Tep Kolap is the rector for the university and Heng Chheang, her husband and chairman of the PPIU board of directors, were accused of embezzling Kok An (the name says it all) who is an in-law relative of Heng Chheang and a crony of Hun Xen.
Kong Bunthy, a PPIU law professor, told DAP-news that the ceremony was held to read a letter to Hun Xen’s picture begging the latter to help find justice for Tep Kolap and her husband so that they may be released on bail and so that they can build their legal case, take care of their children, as well as continuing the building of the PPIU campus.

maybe the social problem in cambodia is that people don't respect the rule of law. they seemed to think they are above the law or something. it will probably take another generation for people to take the rule of law seriously. well, i don't think one can blame cambodia for this sort of issue because you get what you planted. so, next time stop being biased and mistreat cambodia like isolating it and depriving it of education, reforms, development, higher standard of living, infrastructure, etc, etc, you know. if people help to educate cambodia, in return, we all will benefit from the education and knowledge and skills we passed down to the people of cambodia, otherwise, we are suffer as a result of ignorance, you see. so, stop being selfish, evil and greedy, really. you think you hurt only cambodia, but in reality you are hurting everyone. so, please help make cambodia a better country, a better place for all to visit, to work, to live, to do business, etc, etc, really. god bless my country cambodia.

Just showed this picture to my boss. He couldnt believed what he was seeing, he asked if Cambodia is a democratic country. Is it?
I am following this story from the beginning. They are all ridiculous, they do not trust the judiciary system and each side is seeking help from top personalities. At the end, knowing that Kok An is the first to reach PM and his wife, Heng Chheang Tep Kolap have no choice other than mobilizing the students (with promise of free fee study) and PPIU staff (with promise of salary increase) to make noise to attract PM's attention. My feeling is that they are burying themselves in the quick sand, the verdict of the appeal court is already known: they are going to be jailed for long time to come.
My conclusion: Cambodian judiciary system needs to be re-organized and all judges and prosecutors are to be replaced or thrown out for other job. For them they know only one thing: money determine the way of the verdict giving on behalf of Cambodian people. They are really bad people in our beloved country: Cambodia.
