Chut Wutty, the director of the Natural Resource Protection Group, and a military police officer were murdered on 26 April 2012 near an area slated for the construction of Chinese dam in Thmor Bang district, Koh Kong province.
Government officials have not provide the motive of the murder yet. However, unofficial source indicated that the murder was due illegal logging in Thmor Bang district.
Thong Narong, the commander of the Koh Kong province military police unit, said that his working group is investigating this case and he added that two people were slain. One of them is forest protection activist and the other a military police officer. He said that his working group is looking for identification of the two victims.
Unofficial source from Koh Kong confirmed that Chut Wutty and the military police office were shot and killed and two reporters from the Cambodia Daily disappeared from the incident location.
Human rights officials indicated that an ambulance is currently fetching the body of the victims.
A source close to Chut Wutty claimed that one day prior to the shooting, Chut Wutty told him that a mishap awaits him.
Chut Wutty is forest protection activist and he also participated in protest and conducted campaigns to protect forests and lands belonging to the people living in Prey Lang forest located in the provinces of Kampong Thom. Kratie, Preah Vihear and Koh Kong.

We lost another prominent Activist, our Khmer Hero, Mr. Chut Wutty. We are so angry with CPP regime under stupid and dumb Hun Sen, a Vietnamese dog.
Please UN put pressure on Hanoi masters seriously because the monsters/masters in Hanoi, Communist Vietnam, protected and made Hun Sen and CPP thieves (Vietnamese) have power to scare and kill Cambodian/Khmer Prominent Activists and innocent Khmer people who are the owners of Khmer/Cambodian land and forest.
Yes, Vietnamese leaders and followers in Hanoi, Communist Vietnam are the sources to the corrupted CPP regime and Vietnamese dog, dumb and stupid Hun Sen.
Again and again, the problems were created originally from Vietnamese bosses/monsters in Hanoi who protected and provide the power to CPP Vietnamese dog Hun Sen and his illegal Vietnamese officials in CPP party. Both CPP and Vietnamese clans are the real problems in Cambodia and have no respects to Peace Accord Agreement 1991 in Paris.
If the US, EU, International Communities and UN put pressure on Vietnamese leaders/bosses in Hanoi, then Hun Sen will have and CPP have no power and they will not be able to kill Khmer people again. Those criminals of CPP will be arrested.
