EUROPEAN UNION ALLOCATES 4 MILLION EURO IN SUPPORT TO NON-STATE ACTORS INITIATIVES IN THE FIELDS OF NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
Phnom Penh, 28 May 2012 – The Delegation of the European Union to Cambodia is making available 4 million Euro (over 5 million USD) to support Cambodian and European Union Non-State Actors initiatives in the fields of Natural Resources Management and Social Development in Cambodia.
To the effect, a 'call for proposals' was launched by the Delegation on 24 April 2012 to invite interested parties to submit concept notes in the scope of this funding. The deadline for submission of these concept notes is 09 July 2012 at 11:00 AM.
The priority issues of this call for proposals are the following:
- Projects relative to Sustainable Natural Resources Management which will lead to strengthening the capacities of local Non-State Actors to become an inclusive, responsible and empowered partner in the sustainable management of these resources and promote a Green Economy;
- Projects relative to Inclusive Social Development with a focus on empowering communities and grass-roots organisations in disadvantaged areas, as well as marginalised groups, women and/or the youth to become an inclusive, responsible and empowered partner in the development process and benefit from better socio-economic opportunities.

In order to provide further clarification on the call's guidelines support, the Delegation organises an information session at the Imperial Garden Villa and Hotel (315 Sisowath Quay) on 29 May 2012 between 09:00 and 11:00.
