PHNOM PENH - The National Salvation Party is prepared to register with the Ministry of Interior on Monday, officials said Thursday after establishing 80 permanent members.
Members come from the opposition Sam Rainsy and Human Rights parties, but those parties will remain, with parliamentarians and local commune leaders holding their positions for now.
Officials selected a seven-member committee, headed by exiled opposition leader Sam Rainsy, which will help the party prepare for national elections in 2013, said Pol Ham, an official for the Human Rights Party who will be deputy chair of the committee.
Opposition officials formed the party after the ruling Cambodian People’s Party dominated local commune elections in June.
Election monitors say Cambodia’s election laws favor larger parties, and opposition leaders say they hope the new party will help invigorate voters at a time when Cambodia faces ongoing issues of poverty, rights abuses and illegal land seizures.

i think every politicians should talk more about how to develop and reform cambodia, instead of attacking one another's political party too much, especially after the election is done and over with, really! have good political and development vision for cambodia into the near future. cambodia is for everyone khmer people and citizens. instead, they all should talk about strengthening the rule of law in cambodia and lots of reforms in many fields, really! also, they should look into implementing a sound policy on socio-economic reforms, etc, etc... cambodia can use all sort of reforms in many ways, really. stop being selfish and evil as there are more to cambodia than you and i, really! may god bless my country cambodia always.

stop whining about dictator or in power too long already, etc, ok. find the solution to prevent this by using the terms limit law. if not, then shut up already, ok! that said, anyone can abuse power if there is not any rule to prevent it, you know. if they broke the rule, then the justice system with its check and balance system should see to it. it's not up to the political party to decide in court, it's the judicial or justice system if that's what cambodia needs, then make it independent forever, ok! stop be stupid and ignorant and primitive forever, ok!
everyone should study and specialize in something. go to the justice system in cambodia focus and reform it, you know. if you want to help, be good at something like go to the justice system and reform it, really! put more good, educated and justice loving people into the justice system of cambodia, that's how you can help to make a real, lasting difference once and for all for cambodia, really!
