Cambodia's premier: don't be a homophobe

“Most of them are good people and are not doing alcohol, drugs or racing vehicles.”

School of Vice's note: Well observed Dear Leader, but surely this is more than can be said for so many members of your own clans and cronies? One of your nephews [Mr Hun To] is reportedly involved in international drug-trafficking; and this very same nephew killed an innocent person with his reckless driving; your Minister of Information is a well-known alcoholic ["Mr Whiskey"!]. Not that I have anything against alcoholics or whiskey and such expensive spirits, but aren't these public figures and relatives setting rather poor examples for others? And just what exactly do you mean by 'good people'? Those yes-men and sycophants who fill most posts in your regime and administration? Who rob the poor to enrich themselves and see fit to shoot and maim or kill defenceless civilians with guaranteed impunity? In short, do you mean they are all "good people" doing wonderful things just like you have been doing to Cambodia's dwindling forests, unopposed border encroachments, unchecked influx of foreign settlers and immigrants, selling off state assets to foreign companies and turning the entire country into an ecological killing zone? No?

Patrick Winn - December 16, 2012 - Global Post

Cambodia's strongman premier is not known for his poignant appeals for tolerance.

Here's a quote, cited by Human Rights Watch, that reflects his take on dissenters in Cambodia: “I not only weaken the opposition, I’m going to make them dead ... and if anyone is strong enough to try to hold a demonstration, I will beat all those dogs and put them in a cage.”

And yet, the tough-talking prime minister has come out with a welcome -- but awkwardly worded -- statement encouraging Cambodian society to accept homosexuals.

As the Associated Press reports, he publicly stated that "there should be no discrimination against them just because of their destiny ... most of them are good people and are not doing alcohol, drugs or racing vehicles."

This is all the more confounding given his take, in 2007, on his adopted daughter's lesbian coupling. According to China's Xinhua outlet, he kicked her out of the house and worried aloud that her "girls" would bring bombs and poison to his home.

So has Hun Sen had a change of heart?

Was he just looking to score political correctness points last week on United Nations' Human Rights Day -- a day that might otherwise draw attention to his dismal human rights record?

And might he show some of that tenderness towards his Cambodian detractors who are locked up for daring to criticize his rule?

Homosexuality is not a human rights issue but is a human wickedness issue. I don't care how good they wan't to portray this sin.

Compare to Hun Sen Dictatorship, homosexuality is worse in its grossness. It's an abomination in the eye of the Creator. Cambodia will continue to sink lower into the abyss of self-destruction.

A UNIQUE JUNGLE MAN IN THE MODERN WORLD IS HUN SEN. HE CAN BE COMPARED TO AN ANGRY & HUNGRY LION.
HE CAN BE COMPARED TO A GIANT WAVE IN THE OCEAN THAT CAN SINK THE BIG SHIPS, BUT WHEN THIS WAVE COMES TO THE SHORE IT WILL DISAPPEAR. FOR HUN SEN, WHEN HIS DAY COMES HE WILL GO TO HELL.

HE CAN BE COMPARED TO A GIANT PIECE OF STEEL, BUT THE RUST THAT IS CREATED FROM THE STEEL AND IS ON PERMANENT CONTACT WITH THE STEEL WILL DESTROY THIS STEEL. THEREFORE, ONE DAY HIS CRONIES WILL MASSACRE HIM.

GO TO HELL MR. MONSTER OF DISEASTER!!!

One song of the Khmer Rouge was "Chak kror port chea klar kror dass ....." and now the former KR sing the same song. Presently, USA is working some part closer with Hun Sen regime and Hun Sen is proud that USA stand behind him and he hope USA and the west countries don't see what is his action against own people. I can tell you Hun, the policy of the USA and west allies can work with both system: 1) with democrtic system and 2) with dictator system. After they know all of your weaken point, then they liquidate you quickly, that is the goal of the democratic system. Dictator system like you (incl.. secretly full support from Viet) will never go along with the real democratic system, because the democratic system is based only the law (no one seat on the law), every citizen (from poor to rich) has the right to protect themself, but your law system in Cambodia now is under your hand but you say to the world that the law is under justice institution, you manipulated the world eyes. If you don't change your behaviuos now or later you will lose all, not just you but family too, the history has shown what was the destiny of dictator after 1945 till Gaddafi and Assad regime. All people a round the world know your name as KR soldier (they knew what the KR did in the past and you was/is element of them, esp. the killing of wouded people and Lon Nol soldiers in Kg. Chham in 1975!) and the suffering of Khmer people today and get headache because of arrogance behaviuos to own nation. No one stay in the power for ever and you the same !

Dear Shool of vice ,
Please let Khmer know whether or not the " Letter from Obama to Hun Sen " is
genuine ? Khmer have trouble to believe that just in the middle time of America' s mourning the victims of school shooting , Mr . President of USA spent time to write
letter to praise Hun Sen for his achievement as ASEAN chairman ? Is Obama helping Hun Sen for 2013 election campaign ?

Thank you ,
Khmer

To Pi Anh,

Are you the Viet or Khmer?

You're very happy to oppress the poor Khmer people? Leninn said where is opressed the will be revolted. If you are really communist, you must know that, OK!

Dear Reader @ 2:22 PM

Sorry about the late reply. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the letter you mentioned yet so I am unable to confirm or deny its authenticity. However, in light of Mr Hun Sen's rocky relationship with other members of ASEAN [especially those with territorial disputes with China] and his kow-tow loyalty to Beijing, it is highly unlikely the US president is satisfied over his [Sen's] 'leadership' of ASEAN while Cambodia remains its Chair, let alone commending him for the same leadership. The US - like the rest of Asean - can't wait for Cambodia's chairmanship of ASEAN to expire!

Remember that the White House had not seen fit to include Hun Sen's pictures in its published portfolio of pictures taken during the President's recent tour of SE Asia - an ultimate snub of Mr Hun Sen.

Of course, there may be more than meets the eye with the way Washington conducts its foreign policy, and manages its diplomatic-PR relations. We shall see.

It was too bad that my comments kept deleted. Perhaps my comments
said something too bad about HunSen
and his devil masters, yuon and china. Hence, somebody could not take it and delete them.
