Why Khmer called Khmer Kroum or
Khmer so rin , what is symbolize

what is difference both are Khmer as
Khmer in Cambodia right now ?
We are the same Khmer, no Krom, sorin and Khmer leur.
Base on history, the Khmer is geographically divided into two, Khmer Leur (Those who live in Nokoreach Plateau, the north of Dong Rek Range) and Khmer Krom (Those who live in the south of Dong Rek Range). Khmer Krom eventually become Krom or Korm (called by Siameses and Laotians who later inhabited in the plateau). After French ceded Chochinchin (Prey NoKor, Mekong delta) to Vietnam, those Khmer are called Khmer krom as to differentiate from those Khmers in Cambodia. Majority of the Khmer Lear do not know the different. They still refer Khmer in Cambodia as well as Khmer Krom...
Yes, we are the same Khmer, but khmer surin, they thought themselves as Thai surin. I knew a few of them in Australia. They alway speak in favour of Thailand. Khmer Krom is ok, they are our real brother, they fought hard with us during Lon NOL regime along side our soliers.
