Cambodia’s election: Liars
and deniers
Hun Sen does not care about winning prettily
Hun Sen does not care about winning prettily

IN A country with a history of political violence, it appears that
actual bloodshed has been limited. But otherwise the campaign for
Cambodia’s general election on July 28th is as ugly as ever. The ruling
Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) will win again, shoring up the rule of
one of Asia’s longest-serving strongmen, Hun Sen, prime minister since
1985. But the CPP’s majority may be cut and Mr Hun Sen and his party
seem rather het up.
This repugnant nonsense seemed to stem from the opposition’s habit of
using traditional anti-Vietnamese sentiment ahead of elections. This
time it prompted Hun Sen to pass a law criminalising the denial of Khmer
Rouge atrocities.
The passage of the law and the anti-denial march served Hun Sen well.
The CNRP’s campaign had gathered some momentum, thanks to issues
ranging from the government’s complicity in illegal land grabs to the
plight of garment workers, galvanised by a disaster in a factory in
Bangladesh in April. The garment industry accounts for about a fifth of
total government revenue. Workers, who earn less than $100 a month, want
more, and industrial accidents have spurred further protests, including
a rally on June 3rd that saw clashes and arrests.
That rally changed the tone of the election campaign. The government,
which seems increasingly paranoid, enforced a rarely used law intended
to curb “party hopping”—ie, post-election defections by candidates of
the losing party. The law restricts MPs to membership of one political
party only.
A committee of CPP lawmakers then stripped CNRP politicians of their
salaries and parliamentary rights because they were originally elected
for two other parties, which later merged. America said the move
“starkly contradicts the spirit of a healthy democratic process.” The
CPP government responded in traditional fashion, accusing foreigners of
interfering in Cambodia’s affairs. It seems more worried about the
outcome of next month’s election than the niceties of the democratic
process.

Theary was born in Phnom Penh in January 1971.SHE CAME FROM THE VIETNAMESE FAMILY. Under the Khmer Rouge WHICH SECRETLY HIDDEN BY THE VIETNAMESE ORGANIZATION TO SWALLOW CAMBODIA LED BY EING SARY. Of Vietnamese ancestry on his father's side, and Chinese ancestry on his mother's, Ieng Sary was born in Chau Thanh, Tra Vinh province, southern Vietnam. Sary changed his name from the Vietnamese Kim Trang when he joined the Khmer Rouge. Seng Theary lived in Svay Rieng province bordering Vietnam, where the killings were most intense and where she spent five months in prison. The Vietnamese Khmer Rouge killed both her parents. She and her surviving family trekked across the border for Thailand in Nov. 1979 and emigrated to the U.S. one year later.
Since 1995, Theary has been in Cambodia volunteering with various labor and human rights groups as a Youn spy working secretly for Vietnamese government for dominating Cambodia. In January 2004, she moved permanently to live and work in her country of birth. By choice, home is once again Cambodia.
I love the Vietnamese people: I love my aunt Lan, who's Vietnamese; I love my beautiful cousins Jeanette and Rose who are of Vietnamese blood; I love my Vietnamese friends. As a follower of Jesus, I am under command to love. I am proud to know that my mom and dad who have the vietnamese root gave shelter to their Vietnamese neighbors in Svay Rieng in the early 1970s during Lon Nol's pogroms against Vietnamese living in Cambodia (killing/hatred was/is never justifiable, even if many were/are illegally living in Cambodia, then or now).

what are you implying? even if she is of a Vietnamese descendent, it really doen't matter. What matters most is that, she is one of our khmer heroes, who is working very hard to find justice for her parents as well as for all those victims of the KR regime. The truth is, almost everyone in srok khmer are of a mix descendent background anyway.e.g I am sure you are one of a Viet/Chinese/Thai/Laos/Cham/Indian or Mongolar background too but, so what?. What matters most is, you can tell between the 'traitor' like yourself or the 'compatriot' like Sam Rainsy, Mu Sochua, Kem Sokha, Pen Sovan and so on. So, it really doesn't matter as long as you are being loyalted to the place where you were born and live to serve its country and nation, is all it matters.
Let say, your family members were born in Vietnam and is influenced by your gov't to live to rob, steal and kill us khmers, what good does it do to you, your family and your nation? wouldn't it be called a ' 'nation of criminal'? and in real life, what do we do to criminal like you? we put them in jail or in some cases like in the US, China, VN,...they would use capital punishment by shooting them in the head ok?. But you wicked seem to get away from it for now. But I am sure, time will come for you, your family and nation, since 'justice will be done on earth and in heaven', simple as that.
Wow, you, dudes, are very impressive in cussing a woman! Good luck with your patriotism....

Cambodia's enemy is Vietnam(Yuon), which is in the process of colonizing Cambodia.
Vietnam is a thief who never respects its promises. During Vietnam American war, King Sihanouk of Cambodia helped Vietnam by offering a sanctuary or a hiding place near the border of Cambodia and Vietnam to protect Vietnamese and Vietcong from US bombing. In return Vietnam repays the debt by taking a big chunk of Cambodian territory including Kah Tral.
The 1991 Paris Peace Agreement (1991 PPA) signed by 19 signatory countries including Cambodia and Vietnam guaranteeing the territorial integrity of Cambodia.
If Cambodia National Rescue Party win the July 28, 2013 Election, a new government which is independent of Vietnam, can ask the signatory countries to reconvene the 1991 PPA to rescind all unequal treaties between Hun Sen Government and Vietnam from 1979 to 2005 and reclaim all lost territory annexed by Vietnam during that period including Kah Tral.
