Angelina Jolie has long been a champion for the impoverished nation of Cambodia from which she adopted her first son Maddox in 2002. But a new report says the actress may have purchased land in the country to operate a foundation in her son’s name from a former official of the Khmer Rouge, the communist party accused of mass murder in the country.

According to interviews with Cambodian officials and documents obtained by Global Post reporters Douglas Gillison and Phann Ana, Jolie’s associate Mounh Sarath purchased 225 acres for approximately $25,000 from a man named Yim Tith in 2003. The land was for housing for Jolie and staff and other purposes including a ranger station and an educational center for the locals.

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has given birth to twins - a boy called Knox Leon and girl called Vivienne Marcheline - and the first photos of the tots have been sold for $15 million.

Oscar winner Jolie, 33, had the twins by caesarean section on Saturday evening at the Lenval hospital on the glamorous Promenade des Anglais waterfront drive in Nice.

Actor Brad Pitt, the twins' father, was at her side.

The girl, named Vivienne Marcheline, weighed 2.27 kg while her brother, Knox Leon, weighed 2.28 kg.

London, June 4 : Brad Pitt's main concern when he and lady love Angelina Jolie stay in Cambodia with their kids is not snakes or the wildlife, but all the landmines buried across the country.

The couple have a home in the country from where Jolie adopted her oldest son Maddox, now 5, and often like to visit along with their kids.

However, Angelina revealed that Brad gets the jitters just thinking about all the landmines that have been buried in the countryside.

He has now asked authorities if the couple's property can be swept for mines once again.

"He's asking if the property can be de-mined again," The Sun quoted Jolie, as saying.

The Jolie-Pitts, after a pit-stop in France for the Cannes film festival, were back in Prague where the actress is shooting her new movie 'Wanted' in which she plays an assassin.

They recently also celebrated the first birthday of their youngest, and only biological child so far Shiloh.

Angelina Jolie plans to adopt Vietnamese child

HANOI, Vietnam (AP) - Angelina Jolie has filed papers to adopt a Vietnamese child, the country's top adoption official said Friday.

A U.S. adoption agency representing the 31-year-old actress filed the papers at Vietnam's International Adoption Agency, said Vu Duc Long, the agency's director.

''She just filed the papers this week,'' Long said.

Jolie and her partner, Brad Pitt, have three children: 5-year-old son Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; 2-year-old daughter Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and another daughter, Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May.

Long would not name the U.S. adoption agency working with Jolie, who applied to adopt as a single parent.

A phone message left with Jolie's Los Angeles-based manager, Geyer Kosinski, wasn't immediately returned.

Jolie and Pitt, 43, made a surprise visit to Vietnam at Thanksgiving, when they visited the Tam Binh orphanage, on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.

Their pictures were splashed across the front page of Vietnamese newspapers, showing the couple cruising around Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike.

Nguyen Van Trung, the director of the Tam Binh orphanage, declined to comment. He said he was awaiting the papers from the International Adoption Agency.
