The Vietnamese embassy in Cambodia and representatives of the Association of Vietnamese in Cambodia on July 11 visited and presented gifts to underprivileged ethnic Vietnamese living in Kompong Chhnang province's Boribo district.
Counselor of the embassy and head of the delegation, Nguyen Van Hua, said that the gifts from State President Nguyen Minh Triet, worth thousands of US dollars, will be presented to more than 100 poor families in the three provinces of Kompong Chnang, Po Sat and Kompong Thom.
On behalf of overseas Vietnamese in Kompong Chnang, Vu Huu Hai said he was moved to see the Vietnamese government pay such close attention to ethnic Vietnamese living overseas.
The gifts will be a great encouragement to Vietnamese people in Kompong Chhnang in particular and in Cambodia in general, he added.
